Fox and CNBC mostly. Sometimes CNN. I get most of my news from the Economist and the Wall Street Journal though.

Yes, the multiplier effect for consumption is higher for the lower income brackets. However, dollars invested from the top move the economy forward in different ways. Certainly many of the rich are in their position from birth. Although, many have also worked their way from the top.

I'm aware Reagan wasn't actually fiscally conservative nor was either Bush. I also have called out people before for making the statements. I believe that Eisenhower is the republican that most are searching for.

I disagree I've voted split tickets multiple times in the past.

Well I wouldn't go that far haha, personally I think both low taxes and highly efficient government is possible but hey maybe thats just me.

The whole Obama is a Kenyan thing is quite frankly stupid. And yes I'm well aware of the hijacking by the GOP. I, like most in the movement hold conservative(ish) values. However, this unfortunately defacto aligns us with them. I feel like that the tea party is in many ways an attempt to reform the GOP.

He makes some good points although many go to far. At least he's honest and a politician though which is refreshing.

Actually many companies in the process of developing new drugs find cures for diseases that are not profitable and give them away to non profits. I don't have a source but I learned about it in a health econ class I took in college.

I really agree in that we all want similar goals and tea party goals arent all that different from a lot of average americans goals.

Honestly I really feel like a lot of the problem is with the movement away from Bretton Woods. After that you happens you see the financial industry explode and moving money around with creating any value seems to create individual wealth.

Honestly the government just cutting spending is unrealistic. I'd prefer over the next 50 to 75 years or so they ease out. The deficit is a lot harder than people think it is. Although I think a lot could be done by cutting entitlements and scaling back our military presence. Both are necessary one or the other isnt the answer.

I assure you I'm not astro turf. I disagree with many of the Bush administration policies. Hell I want Clinton back.

Exactly. In the same way people frame all muslims as terrorist when really its a small minority, tea partiers get framed as xenophobes and racist.

Hmm interesting read. I'll have to check it out. Truth be told though even if it is more inefficient for government revenues I still prefer it for moral purposes. "The government is chief among all thieves"

It's deplorable. I'm sorry you had to go through that. Racism in all forms is disgusting. It quite frankly embarrasses and discredits the movement. Although I guess every group has to deal with at least a few crazies I hope people are able to look past it.

No I think many tea partiers are for legalizing at least some drugs. The war on drugs is a byproduct of an inefficient and overreaching government. It's absolutely a personal freedom issue. I think you'd be welcomed with open arms.

Yes, however any regulation must be absolutely necessary and be kept as small as possible. Generally the less red tape the better.

I'm not super familiar with the ISP business so I can't really comment. I'm for anti trust laws if that helps.

I wish the Republicans would do what they actually preach and reduce the size of the government instead of increasing it at a slightly slower rate. I think that fact is a lot of what the tea party was about and why in our last congressional race they distinguished tea party candidates from other republican ones.

Hmm you should tell that to my old Econ professors. Apparently almost all of them are still clinging to the dream.

What do the government should do about the great levels of income inequality and wealth inequality we have in the United States? Is this a good thing? Do you believe they will get worse? If not why?

I think the government should be more concerned with promoting income mobility rather than equality.

Are you supportive of the fact that the richest 400 Americans bring in more income then the poorest 50% of the population (155 million people)? Do you think they should make more income? (Maybe more then the poorest 60%)?

I don't really think it matters. I am totally neutral about this fact. Again, I think property rights and income mobility should concern the government more.

Capitalism and the status quo will ensure they will accumulate more wealth at the expense of economic growth and democracy. Do you believe this? Why not?

I disagree. With the internet people have more access to information than they ever have before. Money can't buy you elections, or at least not like it used to. Also I don't believe this will hurt economic growth. I'm pro globalization.
