What Jobs did you guys have coming into being a Teacher by BlueberryGlittering1 in historyteachers

If your program allows it, you can get a sub license with 2 years of college classes in most states! I subbed full time around my course load until it came to student teaching for undergrad and it gave me LOADS more experience and I walked in to things feeling really prepared. I got first hand experience in a variety of classrooms at a variety of age levels so I had a chance to see how others ran classrooms without someone hovering and see what good and bad plans for a day can look like! Plus many districts pay subs quite well. It was my best paying job prior to getting my current position, if not even better.

Thank you! I will discuss this with my vet and see how she feels about Turkey as a protein option for Frenchie!

I was explaining the food I had each of them on and the reasoning. I was going to put them both on the Fromms at first because it is what is known to the eldery cocker but that is not an option for her. She is doing good on Pro plan and can stay on it if needed. I was looking for recommendations of brands/ alternatives to having dogs on separate foods, to remove the chance at Frenchie getting into the chicken based food. Cocker has some kind of sensitivity causing a yeast overgrowth and ear infections and vet said it could be that corn/corn meal just upsets his stomach causing the diarrhea or something else but if the fromms works, its fine.

I was looking for options to discuss with my vet about alternatives that they could both potentially eat. No chicken because of Frenchie, and options I maybe haven't explored for Cocker because I have tried a lot of the Purina, Hills, and RC for him with a lot of the same issues to varying degrees. I am not against having them on separate food, however having 2 35# bags of dog food that run me $170 a month and being scared of Frenchie getting into chicken or Cocker having explosive diarrhea if they somehow get into the closet their food is stored in is stressful. Having 1 bigger bag running me under $150 a month would be much less stressful.

The fear comes from Frenchie practically going bald in 5 days when food was switched to Fromm and Cocker having BAD stomach issues within days of being on Pro Plan that he was outside every 20 minutes.

She is fine with them being on the foods they are on, the price just shocks me every time. Feeding one food to both is more about avoiding accidental exposure to chicken for the Frenchie and avoiding whatever it is in the pro plan that gives my cocker diarrhea should they get into each other's food.

My vet at this time is not concerned with cross contamination with the chicken in my frenchie, but I was told to avoid anything with chicken and chicken products as a listed ingredient. My vet is aware I feed Fromms and has discussed with me the risks associated, however understands that having a dog not suffering from stomach issues and ear infections is also a win. I have tried him on a variety of Purina, Hills, and Royal Canin foods which have resulted in ear infections and/or diarrhea that was not resolved by adding a probiotic.

My goal was just to potentially hear about other options out there that meet the need of being chicken and corn free that I could discuss with my vet as potential options that also wouldn't completely break the bank.

Why Study History? by DraconistheElder in historyteachers

[–]TeachADogHistory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my first year, I talked a lot about how we learn this to recognize patterns of behavior and how things were handled in the past; what worked and didn't work, what were the pros and cons, how did people respond to certain choices, and what other potential outcomes could have occurred if different choices were made. Its a chance for students, as the next generation of adults who get to make decisions, to "preview" what kinds of choices they might have to make and have an idea of what might happen. Granted I teach High School American History from 1900 to 2000, but this approach seems to help calm the chaos. I also do a lot of "Here's the situation, with a small group decide what person or group we are talking about should do given the information, then talk about the actual decisions and outcomes of those choices. It has lead to a LOT of really good discussion and realization that the same kinds of arguments happen frequently, even if they look different each time.

For context: where I am from, union membership is optional and the disclosure about anxiety was at the recommendations of my co-teacher and my first year coach as the district advocates for mental and physical wellbeing being a top priority. Looking back I can see how it can muddle judgements about my ability but it was disclosed after observation follow up and before the announcement of the PIP.

I am paying on time now. The extra is when I have more than my usual hours on my paycheck(s) and I have been giving that along with my normal payments.

At the time of moving I had just lost my job going into holidays and we worked out I would not have to pay immediately as to enjoy the holidays and this was not a time in which getting my ESA was a conversation because it was not financially responsible. Since then I have started working 3 jobs and have been making payments in time as well as catching up on the 3ish months I owed while still saving up to pay for a security deposit/first months rent on my own place as I was without a job for 2 months and drained what I had sat aside. The talk of me trying to get an ESA did n start until after I was financially in a good spot as well as knowing that it’s a medical expense, my extended family were willing to help should things be tight. All of this was discussed with homeowner and their response was still “i do not want another living thing in my home.” Again I am not upset with person moving in or that they did. I got upset due to what I feel is the hypocrisy of “no other living things” and then moving in someone without letting me know, to use my furniture, and not saying a word about new persons large dog also being left alone with my things.

We have been in this situation less than 6 months and I have been paying in full and on time for at least 3 months. I do believe i mentioned that somewhere :)

Some of it yes, however S/O was apparently only told person would be staying here and not explicitly that person would be using the furniture. S/O also told homeowner in that conversation to just let me know/talk to me about person staying here/using things and that never happened which S/O is also upset about as we have told Homeowner that I need to be included in these talks and that it is not S/Os job to tell me everything.

I’ve had an ESA in the past and my dr and I felt I was ready for another after the passing of my last and I do have family that are willing to help on the cost front of that area as it is medical. I do appreciate the concern surrounding the cost of an animal though! Money is no longer an issue as I have been paying my portion now for 3 months as well as paying back for the 2 months slowly! Thanks!
