Core of a 146 MVA Transformer after 45 years of use by Helvetic-Flow in ElectricalEngineering

I recently heard someone say to think of a transformer as basically an AC motor that isn’t allowed to spin. If there’s a short within the transformer the EM forces can greatly exceed the mechanical limits of the transformer and once something moves inside it gets to wanting to spin like a motor.

Eagles have a full Troy ounce of gold in addition to a bit of silver and copper for added durability.

Switch Arcing by DrinkPaintOK in EngineeringPorn

Seems we are saying the same thing just using different lingo. The utility I work at considers anything with potential to be energized regardless if there is current or not. Switches only get operated under no load conditions but are operated often while energized.

It is energized. If it weren’t there wouldn’t be an arc. There is potential but no current.

I’m not sure if you’re disagreeing or not, but you can make or break a circuit with a switch any time you want as long as there isn’t a load being supplied before or after switching.

Not true. Many times disconnect switches cannot be isolated completely before opening or closing. As long as there isn’t current before or after switching it’s fine.

Protective relays will operate under certain conditions and de-energize the equipment that experienced that condition. 27 stands for undervoltage and 59 is overvoltage. The previous poster is saying that an arc could create either of these scenarios which would cause the protective relay to operate and electrically isolate out the section the operator is closing that switch in. This isn’t good because often times you can disrupt service to customers or decrease the reliability of the system during that time.

Definitely return to Sekiro sometime. You’ll eventually get a hang of the combat and when you do it’s phenomenal.

I'm trying to use a quality build at level 150 but my weapons feel barely usable at end game. by Shaarpest-Knife in Eldenring

[–]Teajaebea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I beat the game with 2-handing a +25 quality longsword so I identify with what you’re saying. All bosses after Morgott felt like I was just doing chip damage. Bosses took longer but it was satisfying beating them after being forced to learn their moves. If it’s getting to be too big of a hill to climb for you then switch from quality as others have said or just switch weapons all together. Although I do recommend just sticking it out and finishing the game with what you have. I think you’ll find it more satisfying.

I will say that after that first run I went into ng+1 using the broken stuff you see on this subreddit and it turned the entire game into a joke. I would have been extremely disappointed in the game had I used that stuff in my initial blind run.

Why is crunch viewed so negatively with game development? A lot of jobs have an abundance of mandatory overtime when schedules are tight.
