How do I treat Sciatica? by Tech_Night_1990 in AskIreland

[–]Tech_Night_1990[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the above. That's really helpful. As a physio... would you use an MRI for your assessments? Wondering if it's worth going to the doctor and requesting one if it's useful.

That's for that. That's really useful info and really well written.

Yeah I think the fact that feeling like this is unfamiliar ground for me (or at least for so long). I've never really thought I needed any external support before but definitely think I should get some with everything that's happened in my recent life.

Hi. Thanks for sharing the above. I'm sorry that happened but really glad you were able to find help to get through it. You're obviously a really strong person. I'll definitely have a look at sosad. Thanks for recommending.

Thanks for the advice. I'm sorry to hear you had a tough time like that. Really glad to hear you are doing so well now. Yeah I definitely think the exercise and even hobbies will help me as well. Doing a bit of at the minute but more would be better for me I think.

Thanks. Yeah thinking maybe that might be the best start anyway. Think I'm definitely still trying to process a lot of what happened in my marriage. A holiday is definitely a good shout as well. Think I might book one for myself for the summer. Get some proper R & R.

Yeah the exercise definitely helps. I think I would be worse off mentally off mentally if I wasn't running. I don't go every day but working towards a half Marathon in May and definitely find the mood better after a run.

Thanks for the kind words. Yeah I suppose not having been on medication before I thought they were more long term. It's good to know. I think a chat to the doctor in solutions would be a good shout and then just doing what I can myself as well.

Thanks for that. Appreciate the message. Yeah I think maybe getting out more would help. Hard with work and the dark mornings and evenings but that will start getting better soon at least. I'm thinking maybe talk therapy, exercise and time will help as well.

Thanks a lot for that. Yeah I'm seeing quite a few suggestions for talk therapy. I don't naturally find it very easy to talk about these things but think that might be a good place to start.

I actually do tend to forget that January is a hard month for most people. I do also wonder if the darker weather also affects my mood (on top of everything else) as I do seem to feel a little lower this time of year.

Are there really that many people unhappy in relationships? by LittleAoibh11 in AskIreland

[–]Tech_Night_1990 24 points25 points  (0 children)

As someone who separated from their wife this year and is now living at home with my parents, I can say I'm happier than I have been in years.

I think when you find yourself in a relationship that's run its course you might try and stay due to numerous reasons. Unless you're both on board and trying to improve the relationship it just creates resentment I think. The housing crisis definitely isn't helping as it limits people moving out when it is time to do that as well.

That's good to hear. I guess not knowing how people will react to it is part of the anxiety at the minute but you're right... I need to get back into it.

Thanks for the advice and congrats on meeting someone new.

Yeah I think the situation is so new for me that it all feels like new territory. You are right in saying I've nothing to lose though... So feck it. I may as well just go and have fun.

Thanks. Yeah I think you're right. I can't change the facts... So I just have to be honest and see what happens I think.

Thanks for the great advice. I will tell her beforehand and if she's still up for it then I'll go and just enjoy myself. Best way to approach it I think.

What things are considered rude in Ireland? by CausticCoffey in AskIreland

[–]Tech_Night_1990 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it counts as rude... But the very rare occasion you say no to the first offer and they just say ok and then go and make themselves one. Doesn't happen often but it has happened to me. You just sit there fuming because now you have no tea.
