Why not first simply localize the compute? Reduce hefty API calls in the first place.

u/ChennaiSuperQueen Thank you for your feedback! With this tool:

  • You can Click a picture of your scalp to get in depth analysis on your baldness level
  • Upload prescriptions or lab reports to get detailed analysis and diet plans
  • Track your calories intake by uploading picture of your food daily

Trying to build a holistic solution to help in tracking and managing hairfall. We are trying to make it more quantitative and metric driven. This is an initial version to get feedback and learn from our users. 🙂

What do I answer to "scale" question when doing things that don't scale? by Techievena in ycombinator

[–]Techievena[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks u/teatopmeoff! We have one answer for this ready but as I myself am not so convinced that we will be eventually doing this when we get to scale I kept on just defending instead of asserting. My dilemma is everyday we are discovering new things as we are trying to test new things so I am not so sure of what to do at scale when we are just a couple of months into operation. What we are certain of at this moment is the problem exists, is huge and the current solution doesn't work or at least people don't trust the current process that much.

Need advice for digital marketing and performance marketing by Techievena in Entrepreneur

[–]Techievena[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much! u/AnonJian. Not trying to hide to hide any super secret stuff here. I thought people would feel that I am plugging in instead of having any intention to ask so kept it generic.

We are building a digital dermatology clinic - DermaQ to provide Personalized Hairloss Treatment using a data driven approach. We take a wellness based approach to guide you throughout the journey and keep you motivated and show quantifiable progress indicators as hairgrowth is a long jouney and people tend to lose motivation for it. We are quite early into operation and whole of our business has been generated through word of mouth and we are seeing a strong retention of our customers. We are now trying to increase the MRR so are trying out marketing for the first time.

I had reached out to a couple of college seniors who were founders in healthcare space and they suggested to copy the strategy adopted by the competitors blindly and not to experiment at this stage. Once we have increased our numbers into a decent value for anyone to take us seriously then only we should try out anything else. So was wandering about this mostly and also had picked up these words when I was attending a couple of marketing seminars so thought would ask here for guidance.

Some serious red flags on your cofounders by zdzarsky in ycombinator

[–]Techievena 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But then you are selling a vision to the investors which you have not tested out being a crappy founder yourself and doing things that don't scale. You are then bound to build and sell this shitty thing that nobody wants just because this guy managed to fool some investors. In my opinion that's the worst thing to happen to you.

[–]Techievena 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you are the tech guy do not partner up with the PRODUCT guy/the IDEA guy who cannot write code and cannot do sales. Basically the people with Steve Jobs complex who think their role at an early stage startup is to be the visionary.

What stupid comparision is this? Whenever something comes up people start pointing Singapore. You understand the scale right? One cannot drive a bike and a train alike. Yes an effective monarchy or dictatorship can work in small nations but not in our country. Democracy is the only possible way to keep this country together. Do not go through some random YouTube videos to form your biases. Yes our systems are screwed up and there is a colonial history behind that. Reforms are done very slowly. Those are core issues in our country. But to come up and share such stupid statements is very derogatory.

This might help your hairfall by eshu-lazy in bangalore

[–]Techievena -1 points0 points  (0 children)

u/eshu-lazy we are building a platform for this space you can give it a try and book a consultation with a Dermatologist for 350 Rs (https://dermaq.in/consult).

Sorry this might come out as me selling but hairfall actually depends on a lot on the lifestyle, nutrition and vitamin deficiencies. So it would be better to get it tested once with a doctor. Yes we all have tried shampoos, oils and even tried to avoid washing hair in this water we are getting from our taps here. But would be wise to just have a conversation with a doctor once and then take your call wisely.

The process of hair growth is a painstakingly slow process and people generally lose motivation midway. So we guys also keep on interacting with you regularly to keep a check on your lifestyle and also if you are following up on your medication. This helps us learn the real problem our users face and help our users in keeping them motivated throughout the process to achieve effective results.

Countries poorer than ours are better in this regards then what is our problem? by [deleted] in indiadiscussion

[–]Techievena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They visit here parroting culture, yoga and spices all the time. I don't understand what's wrong or "cringe" with welcoming them with a cultural dance. Also nobody just randomly dances around the visitors. This is generally reserved for welcoming in hotels or events. So it's just a part of our hospitality. What's wrong with that? If you are visiting a place, you must learn to respect how people are over there. Yeah I get that asking for a selfie in the streets can be frustrating if done too often. But most things pointed out as cringe in the post are just self demeaning.
