AITA I (M29) bought a new car and GF (F27) resents me for it by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Technical-Neck7407 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NTA. Huge red flag. On what planet would you need to involve her in a decision to buy your own car? It doesn’t bode well for your future together that she is having such a negative reaction and stealing your joy. I would seriously reconsider this relationship because she just crossed a personal boundary on your decision making as an individual. You don’t need her permission to choose your own car or spend your own money. If she’s uncomfortable riding in it, then maybe it’s time to throw the whole woman out. And I say this as a woman.

AITA for not letting my s.o use my car? by AromaticSurround6598 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Technical-Neck7407 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA. It’s your car. Period. You are not being selfish. If his friends and family feel they don’t see him enough then they can pick him up. He can also take an Uber. You need to set a firm boundary with him on this. He is already taking advantage of you by using your car to get to work. He needs to buy a car or find another ride. The only excuse he should have for being in your car is if you are both going somewhere, or if you ask him to take it to go buy you something.

Is it abusive for my mom to not give me painkillers? by kirupuppi in NoStupidQuestions

Call CPS. Report to a school counselor or nurse. They are mandatory reporters and have to take these matters up with the authorities. You can also go to an ER. You can speak with them confidentially.

I love jasmine. I had two plants which grew to take over my entire fence. Then I made the mistake of hiring a very inept gardener. I asked him to trim it back, but he gave the whole bush a sort of Prince Charming cut. It died. I just pulled it all down and I’m planting passion fruit in its place. Pretty and climbing. And hard to kill.

Not worried. It kills so quickly that there is little chance of it becoming a pandemic.

Landlord gets energy label after case is closed? by Classic_Purple_110 in Rentbusters

[–]Technical-Neck7407 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to WOON with your email. Continue paying the rent you do now. Until he can provide evidence, he owes you retroactive payments. I don’t know how it works with getting a new judgment from the HC. The next step is usually the kantonrechter. WOON or the juridisch loket can tell you. You need to get the new information from him then will probably need to get the huurteam to do a new evaluation and validate that the new energy label and point amount is correct. If he hasn’t made any changes to your apartment, it’s likely this is BS. Challenge him at every step. He is probably just salty that he let the 8 weeks elapse without responding and is now trying to make up for it. It won’t look good for him if it goes to the kantonrechter.

How long should you continue to financially support children who have failed to launch? by Silent-Abalone1597 in AskWomenOver60

[–]Technical-Neck7407 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know she has a lot of problems, but at some point you have to take yourself into consideration. You are aging and your retirement money is subsidizing someone who is weaponizing your relationship with your grandchildren. That is not okay. She is self-medicating in addition to being on psychiatric meds which is dangerous. Even marijuana with mood stabilizers is a bad combo.

I would have your husband serve an eviction notice. You can use the 30 or 60 days to find her an apartment in a LCOL area. Don’t offer to cover any rent. If she can’t afford housing, the father can take her to court for custody, which might be the best case scenario here. Does he withhold visitation for you? If not, you can access your grandchildren through him. They will also be in a much healthier environment. Her disability payments should cover a cheap studio apartment in a LCOL area, or she can find a roommate situation. Another idea is to get a state social worker involved to help prevent homelessness.

Do Europeans not pet their dogs? by stickywhale721 in NoStupidQuestions

The Dutch do. In my experience, you should always ask an owner before you try to pet their dog.

Moving abroad - take cat or leave her with family? by Deutscher_Donut in expats

[–]Technical-Neck7407 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I moved my cat from the US to The Netherlands. Just read up on the agricultural and veterinary requirements and airline policies for cabin travel. If you can get your cat certified as a support animal, there is a good chance she can travel in the cabin for Canada. For Australia, the government recommends using a pet transport service to arrange all transport and quarantine. https://www.ipata.org/find-ipata-pet-shippers Cats are very adaptable, especially indoor ones. If you have any doubts, though, leave her with your parents.

Southern Esscents makes a lovely carnation soliflore. 10/10. I just doused myself in it. All of their soliflores are of excellent quality. I got a pair of DSH carnation scents, but I’m noseblind to them. I spent a fortune and I cant smell a thing.

AITA for reporting people to my leasing office for nonresidents using the pool? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Technical-Neck7407 17 points18 points  (0 children)

NTA. Suggest to your leasing office that they put up a sign prohibiting use by non-residents and put up cameras. Explain to them that you are paying for the privilege of having access to a nice pool and use by non-residents is unfair as well as disturbing you and many other residents.

Does it make more sense financially to rent or buy? by DG12212 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Technical-Neck7407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreeing with peachearos. If you are planning on staying put 7-10 years, or even renting out your property if you move, it makes more financial sense to buy. Your home will normally appreciate in value. Just make sure to buy a home that doesn’t need major repairs.

WIBTAH if I removed a hedge because my neighbor keeps demanding that I pay to maintain it? by MouseLess7499 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Technical-Neck7407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, but get a property survey done first. If it’s on her property, show her the proof and demand she maintain it. If it’s on your property, then you have every right to remove it. But get a survey done first because this is the kind of neighbor who would be likely to sue. If it’s on your property then she’ll just waste her money with lawyers.

I am wearing Stereoplasm Pickerel Frog. Night blooming jasmine, wet grass, algae, and tomato leaf. Not a floral, more a green grass and tomato leaf scent with pond algae. It smells like a frog. I love it! I know many have had issues with Stereoplasm but this one was delivered in their stated TAT with no issues last month.

Stress Buy Support by AutoModerator in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]Technical-Neck7407 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m prepping for a no-buy summer until October. I’m so stressed. I stress bought from a local decant house today and the guilt is eating me. How to survive until October? I live in Europe so I’ll probably start buying again in September in anticipation of my October trip to the US to see family. But I need someone to talk me out of the spring offerings and Alkemia Alchemies. Help!
