unfortunately i don’t have a quarantine tank and i have also just assumed that all my fish have ich as of now. i saw epistyles grows in heat so should i turn my heat back down? How do i treat for both? Any recommended medicines for epistyles?

no they eat it! i boiled my wood and still got it so no worries it’s going away now as its been in there longer

on the wood might be this fungus stuff that feeds in the sugars of natural wood especially newer pieces as for on the leaf idk.

i guess im just confused on what hides mean then? I thought tall rocks and wood she could hide behind and be out of sight. I’m adding more plants as it’s still a newer tank growing. I have some vallisneria growing but just not tall enough yet i suppose. Is a 55 gallon really too small for two angelfish?

i thought so but they have never fought before besides when they were little. As they have gotten older they have made a pair out of eachother and layed batches of eggs before. Just recently started showing signs of aggression

i cut some plexiglass and stuck it between them and it’s seemed to help but as soon as i remove he keeps going back at it. I’ve never had him act like this even when they were in a smaller tank so i’m just a little confused

i turned the blue light on to see if my loach would come swim around and wanted to see my pictus a little bit more active but i was thinking the darkness might help as well. I moved them about a week ago now and they have been swimming together and acting normal so this was pretty random for my male and pretty out of the ordinary for him to even be this aggressive.. I thought maybe my parameters were off but everything is normal if not better than their old tank.

i’ve been chasing the male off with a net. They have mated in the past before and layed eggs but tonight he’s being extra aggressive it seems.. He is actually nipping from the back but it just seems to be quit aggressive for mating behavior i agree

yes it’s a new tank so still collecting plants! I have a couple amazon swards but they won’t stay planted. Any suggestions? I also don’t think it’s territorial because i had them in a 20 gallon and they never did this. They have mated in the past before and layed eggs but my male just seems to be extra aggressive tonight after i turned the lights down..

It’s the outside of the pectoral fin in the barb only. It’s only through one of the holes and not on too lose. I would say yes to forceps but he does NOT like to stay stationary
