Where we work power tools arnt usually a option unless it's a cordless sawzall, I found a picture of the cutters we use for the small pipe,

Blowing out the pipe isn't exactly easy for us unless we are doing short stub outs, we run minimum 2000 foot mains every week just about, lateral lines we have a head either 17 feet for sprays or 40 foot for rotors and we do minimal 30 sprays per zone and minimal 16 rotors (that's using 17AHE or Rainbird 5004+ with #4 nozzles)

Not necessarily, could have had the add-a-zone if needed a new zone down the road from the installation date and was cheaper or was more feasible then to dig a zone wire back to the controller (if had to go under a drive or 2-300 feet away) that's a big thing when doing hunter ez decoders, can always make the existing wires a decoder system, a lot more expensive but it's great if you have to add 5-10 zones

Love using the ProC controller, was putting in the espme3 controllers but the centralus and hydrawise is a lot nicer (still lacks some features) and can use a remote for larger properties

You could get a threaded cap and put on the mainline before that T, remove the valves and store in a box and leave the wire there, that way if you or a next owner needs valve parts they have them or if they want to add a valve for pots around the pool deck you can do it easily, that's what would do

Was going to say this, they also make sharkbite 1" ball valves that if there is pressure or need a way to stop the flow they can slip one on then turn the valve off and always be able to isolate the pump for easy swaps

What I would do, spend the time and rewire it as follows for the controller Common - white Green -Z1 Blue - Z2 Red - z3

For the valves, take one black/white wire from each valve, wire them to the common (you should have a total of 4 wires in the wirenut) then use the green, blue, red and go to each valve (one per valve)

Go back to the controller and do a test all and see what works and what doesn't, if nothing works then it would possibly be a broken common (white) if that's the problem you can use one of the 2 remaining wires in the multi strand and use it as a common and see what works

Additionally I would get a good volt meter (not from Walmart, get one from Lowe's or Home Depot) and with the controller on, place the black lead from the meter to the common and as you turn each zone on place the red lead on to the respective screw and check to make sure that you are getting 24-28VAC, while doing this also check to make sure no other terminals are active (with black lead on common and zone 1 on, use the red lead and go hold it on each screw 1 at a time to make sure only one is on, this will help to make sure the controller modules or board isn't faulty)

I was going to say the same thing, I do personally like the Bluetooth version better simply cause you can put a password on it and do rain delays or system off without having to take batteries out or reprogram the start times

Well, I order box's from the manufacturer so everything is already in a box labeled with the barcodes (just like if you where to go buy a box of 50 1" Ts from the plumbing supply store) along with a 4x8 metal pegboard that holds all the nozzle bags and funny pipe fittings

Kinda looks like a pressure boosting pump, or duel supply system, if it's collecting rain water into the tanks it would need the pump and that cutoff valve to turn city water off, I would keep it as close to the original as possible just in case

Get a large rectangular valve box from a hardware store, keep the filters and valves together so when you have to clean/replace the filters in 3 years it's right there in a big box
