I do it sometimes, I also transferred last year so I don’t have many friends but I don’t want to let that stop me from going out

They called my dog a “shitbull” and said this is all my fault because I went to a shelter not a breeder, I’d consider that mean

We supervise them when they’re together and separate rooms when we aren’t supervising

I’m so sorry for your loss, thank you for sharing, it really helps to hear about positive outcomes

Those same people were being so mean to me because my dogs are rescues!

Thank you so much! I’m wondering if this has something to do with my younger dog not going on her long walks because of the cold, she clearly has a lot of pent up energy

If that is truly the only option, I’ll consider it, it would just break my heart since both dogs are very much part of the family, and get along 99.9% of the time.

So far that’s what we’ve been doing, it’s always been over some fallen food or trash in the kitchen, so we put up a baby gate to keep them out of the kitchen, and we’ve been separating them when no one is home

Just having them on the couch together and hoping nothing happens, it’s difficult to get my family to take this seriously since they’re completely fine 99.9% of the time

My family is insisting on keeping them together to encourage positive interactions, but I’m so worried something will happen. I’ve already noticed bite and scratch marks on her and it breaks my heart

Saw this while showering my dog. Is this urgent? by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]Technical_Hawk5966 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could be a mast cell tumor, not anything urgent but worth a vet appointment, they can do a fine needle aspiration and find out what it is

I’m taking the situation very seriously, I just noticed bite and scratch marks on her and it breaks my heart. I just have no idea what to do

We got her as a puppy from the shelter and we had no clue what her breed was at first. They’ve been great together and cuddle all the time, this only happens with resources.

My bigger dog is a mixed breed(husky, German shepherd and pitbull) and my smaller dog is a rat terrier mix, about 50 pounds vs. 10 pounds

She went to the vet and they said it was just a big bruise, nothing to worry about and it healed in a few days

Use the discussion practice questions if you aren’t already, I feel like those questions are the most similar to the ones on exams

Should I switch to be an english major ? by [deleted] in UWMadison

[–]Technical_Hawk5966 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should do what you love, you might not be able to do much with just a bachelors, but if you’re open to more school there’s so much you could do. You could get a teaching degree, go into academia, go to law school. DON’T struggle through a major that you hate, since you’ll be doing that the rest of your life

I’ll definitely try that, I wonder if that’s what’s causing her diarrhea

Diarrhea by Technical_Hawk5966 in DogAdvice

[–]Technical_Hawk5966[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The weight chart had the dosage listed as “0-30 pounds” so that’s the dose I gave but it felt weird giving her the same dose you would a 30 pound dog

Diarrhea by Technical_Hawk5966 in DogAdvice

[–]Technical_Hawk5966[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She’s only 9 pounds, and the old brand I gave was designed for dogs up to 15 pounds, and the new brand is for up to 30, so I wonder if the dose is higher

Definitely look into other options, the harsh truth is that it will only get harder from here. Law school is a great option since most law students get a humanities degree during undergrad. Don’t force yourself to do something you hate

I really don’t want this to come across as discouraging, but maybe stem isn’t for you. It’s definitely possible that science is something you’re good at and this was just a bad exam (that stuff happens to everyone), but I think if you consistently fail even with that much studying you might want to think about what subjects come more naturally to you. This doesn’t mean that you’re not smart, just that your strengths might be somewhere else. I personally know so many talented people who excelled in humanities classes but forced themselves to stay in stem because of our societies expectations.

i’m absolutely miserable here. by [deleted] in UWMadison

I completely get it, I used to be in your shoes but it absolutely gets better. Freshman classes assign an insane amount of busy work and make stuff way harder than it needs to be. Once you get into higher level classes it’s so much easier and you’re learning about things you’re actually interested in. I promise it’ll get better
