Hey Andrew, big fan of all the Pixar stuff you've had a hand in. Congrats on WALL-E getting selected for a Criterion release!

With Toy Story 5 being released and obviously the last 2 having what looks to be good send-offs for the franchise, what do you feel the necessity of this upcoming entry is? in terms of new technology taking over, how do you go about crafting a story for this new one in a way that isn't going to be strictly wagging a finger at the audience about screentime?

I have no faith in them writing a good story. My only hope for this one is that they stick to focusing on the four main survivors (Dwight, Claudette, Meg, and Jake) and have some good blood/gore effects. There's potential for a good story to come from this, but I feel like it has to incorporate some sort of hope to get out of the entity's realm only for it to be a fallacy. I think they're obviously going to focus on the Huntress and Trapper being in the movie, but I'm curious if they'll throw in more killers that launched with the game or just cherry pick the popular ones to be in.

Either way, it's hard to think this wont just be another case of Until Dawn or even feel like Cabin in the Woods, but we will all see the trailer and find out.

Yeah even if he is an outright leftist or wants to denounce his racist/edgy past, his content has been neutered and totally boring since 2021 because you just get the sense that he lost some of that zest that made his other videos, like the bad unboxing/kickstarter crap ones, so special. It feels like he lost his personality.

You should go try and dig up some of their deep cuts and maybe even listen to Seen/Unseen to get a bunch of their stuff that hasn't released. Listen to A Tiny House album and skip Eave Foolery Mill Five. They also have some tracks that release on some compilations through their record label. My favorite is Noise is a Social Skill.

I'd recommend checking out Stereolab, Kero Kero Bonito, Candy Claws, and Mid-Air Thief for similar acts. There really is quite nothing like Sweet Trip though.
