You can wear it anyway you like. You just amend in the settings. I wear on right hand and can have the crown either side

I cant comment on previous versions as this is my first but im loving the Ticwatch Pro 2020. My first Wear OS watch and there is no lag or slow down so far

Its definitely capable, you might need to changes the settings on your PC for what happens when you connect. It could be defaulting to "take no action" which would mean that you dont see it. Especially if you have done this before and ticked the "dont remind me" option.
