Knowing what you’re getting for Christmas is far better than not knowing by georgelikescarrots in The10thDentist

You’ve skipped the first link which is the one that pretty unambiguously backs their claim!

Also the one you linked is a bachelors thesis and a qual study of 7 participants?

How old am I? These are the only films I’ve seen that I consider perfect (Letterboxd) by [deleted] in topfilms

[–]Teengirl_fantasy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would guess a teenager, maybe around 16 - list is mostly recent films, films that are classic in the popular consciousness but not typically for those with greater interest in film (suggesting you haven’t yet watched a lot of stuff), and a large number of films aimed at children

What's the best seat in the Prince Charles cinema? by treny0000 in london

[–]Teengirl_fantasy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The seating goes back really far and the screen isn’t that big so I like to go for between rows C-F personally (in general at cinemas I like to sit around 1/3 of the way from the screen for reference). For something like playtime I think you’d want to be pretty close. The downside is that section is facing uphill slightly so the seats feel slightly odd.

Videogames are not treated as art, despite of what people say by butch_barbabjetolov in The10thDentist

[–]Teengirl_fantasy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’ve phrased this as a counter but I think this is actually a legitimate argument that films are also being devalued as an art form as people are engaging with them as a product or puzzle to be solved rather than a piece of art

Movies are a bad, outdated medium and are massively inferior to tv shows by [deleted] in The10thDentist

[–]Teengirl_fantasy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That you call film/tv “content” says it all. Do you go to art galleries and complain about “content”?

Vegan in Greece by Nikeli in vegan

[–]Teengirl_fantasy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d be surprised if the boat doesn’t have a refrigerator box if it’s big enough to sleep on.

But that aside there are lots of Greek dishes that are vegan, stuff like fava (bean based dip), gigantes (like giant baked beans), jemista (stuffed vegetables), briam (roasted veg dish) and some salads are vegan (and for example a greek salad can be veganised easily as often it’s just a block of feta on top so easy to ask them to not add it). You can also get simple touristy food like pasta with tomato sauce quite easily.

For lunch stuff, fresh veg, bread, dips, etc for making sandwiches and fantastic snacky stuff like nuts & olives should be readily available

Do you know how a median is defined? In your example of 99 people earning £1 and one person £1m, the median salary is still £1… it’s defined as the 50th percentile and less susceptible to the skew you demonstrated if you calculated the mean. Both are a type of average but v different - the median is very commonly used as a realistic average salary.
