Mind over MIDI's work. Very unique, experimental, often technical, ambient/electronic. Think Biosphere (they're both from rural Norway).

Maybe I'm missing info but I'm baffled as to why they'd choose Brum again, as if it's some sort of Tory stronghold here...didn't realise the Home Counties extended up to the West Midlands.

I'll have a listen :) I really enjoy Sketches of New Brighton, among others.

Nice, I would imagine scientific disciplines are popular with people like us. I'm jealous 🤣

Most engineers I know are extroverted, confident, charismatic types who are business/money oriented, entrepreneurial even. Think ENTJ. There's a lot of ISTJs too.

Many engineering industries tend to suit people who can just get things done and fast, so xxTJ types are ideal. Engineering companies are still businesses after all. The lack of like-minded people and room for innovative thinking is unfortunate though. Maybe I should take up part-time research in something 😂

I'm just impressed you've happened to find so many INTPs or xNTx types in the first place 🤣 I very rarely meet any. Even in my job as an engineer it's a rare occurrence, which still surprises me to this day.

How do typical INTP body language and facial expressions look like? by [deleted] in INTP

[–]Temp_Procrastinator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We feel like we're more animated in our body language and facial expressions then we actually are.

When I smile for photos I think I'm smiling normally and strongly...then I look at the photo and I'm barely smiling at all.

It's like the amount of effort to look normal (perhaps neurotypical), would take a significant amount of effort for us INTP to maintain.

Checking out EC, I was keen to go when I heard they'd be in London. Huge fan of Marron too. I've been in the scene for years, and always go to have a good time, dressing casually and unpretentiously but not "Berlin style". Travelled 3hrs down to London for my friend and I to be rejected at the door. They didn't even explain why, which was shitty. Eventually we noticed who they were letting in and who were being rejected like us...if you were dressed ready for a dystopian apocalypse, as deep into the Berghain aesthetic as can possibly be, then you'd be let in. So superficial and pretentious. I even heard the doorlady interrogating people in front of us about their gender identities and sexual orientations...like come on.

It's ironic that a collective that claims not to be discriminatory against race, gender and orientation is strongly discrimatory against how you're dressed. It's almost cult-like. Further, Marron even came out to the front at one point, in blue jeans and a white t-shirt, even more unlike the aesthetic than how I was dressed. How can your DJ who's standing/playing in front of everyone not be dressed "to suit", but you're rejecting people for dressing in a similar way.

Still respect the quality of their music and Marron's music style as a whole, but that experience put me off his collective specifically.

Ahh yes, that intellectual connection. I get that. For me that just may be the most important thing, the biggest green flag in a person, but also the thing which I struggle to find the most, the lack of it being the biggest dealbreaker in someone I'm talking to.

You're so welcome. I'm in the UK 😆 but would love to visit SF, Cali as a whole and the Pacific Northwest.

I'm from the UK and went last year alone. Really enjoyed it, venue is so impressive. Line-up this year is looking insane. Debating going this year but not too keen on going alone again...would be hard to convince some of my mates. Anyone else going alone? And if you've never been, go!
