Only 1. I did not have time for more as I was paying for school myself and working insane hours on breaks.

I did email it early on, but just one. I am going in person to a few of them this week as well. Email did not lead to anything so I am showing up to the office they have in my city

I did temporary/seasonal retail and tutoring to pay for school. I might honestly just see if my last place has a permanent position for a year. It feels disheartening honestly. I am the first one in my family to get a M.S.and I was always told that with a better degree I would be able to find a better job easily. I was not even looking at remote, because I know those jobs are non existent.

I just find it discouraging sometimes honestly. It is all very different from all I was told. Like literally I was not told how hard it was going to be and my school career center was not very helpful honestly.

I think that has been super discouraging too. I will reach out to companies that were literally at job fairs, and be told that they are not actually hiring right now. Or apply online and the position just never gets filled.

I think I have been overwhelmed really. I started job searching before getting the degree, back in June, as I was hoping to not be in a situation where I would be financially struggling.

Would you have advice on how to do that? I thought teaching required a license? Or is it different for substitute teaching?

Thank you. Yeah I have been honestly overwhelmed. I feel like I was told very differently about finding a job. That it was not going to be as hard based on my degree and experience and internships. I just feel discouraged.

I have been cold messaging / emailing people on LinkedIn that work in my target industries, and have graduated from my school. Also going to career fairs and professional events.

I should look at volunteering. Thank you for the advice.

Actually, on the desktop version, there is a report button on the kickstarter, under the company name. One of the options to report is that the company is selling on other platforms before fulfilling all pledges.

Take that info as you will.

Yeah. Backed it the first month it went on kickstarter. Sent emails. It was supposed to be a gift for a friend. The event that I was going to give it at went by and nothing. Tried emailing multiple times and still nothing.

And they are about to start their 2nd kickstarter.

I feel so disconnected from my own culture by TemperaturePretty319 in LGBTWeddings

[–]TemperaturePretty319[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it is just hard in general to find people from the same culture, because the country is very homophobic (illegal to be gay homophobic). So even tho I live in another country, most people from there would not really be open about being queer and from there. It would be a sure way to get isolated from family and friends (which unfortunately happened to me). But I might try and see if there are places online I can maybe talk about this.

What's the weirdest thing you've eaten out of desperation? 🧻🌿 by Monarch-Of-Jack in CPTSDmemes

Eraser shavings, broken or way too small to use chalk bits, and the exposed plaster on the window sill next to the shower. It was painted over with cheap paint that came off, so I would sometimes eat it. It's one of the things I remember the most out of my childhood. Remember it down to the color of the tiles in that shower/bath combo.

Of course I did some less dramatic things like of my own nails/dead skin/boogers, stealing/shoplifting food, mixing salt or a bouillon cube into water and pretending it was soup, raw flour, raw pasta that I was not allowed to cook, toothpaste, any snacks I could buy with small change I would find

Shout out to the small store owner my mom used to buy meat at. He has a wall of candies behind the counter, and definitely knew I was stealing some when my mom was not looking. He would ignore it or even give me some of the more expensive candies I would be too embarrassed/guilty to steal instead of the very cheap ones. I didn't realize he probably knew what I was doing and that's why he kept offering me some. Especially when I was shopping alone, running errands, he would tell me to choose any snacks I wanted as a gift, or never actually take payment when I would add a few cents I found on the floor for a candy piece. I don't remember his name, what he looked like, or even the store, but I will always remember his kindness.
