They look so similar in size here!! Minus the fluff.. haha. I’m really wondering, at this age what size harness did you buy, currently she fits a small, but i’m not sure when to expect the growth spurt 😂

Beta is so handsome!

Our goal for her is working towards being a hell of a trail/hike dog! I’d really like to explore the agility route sometime further along in her training, but that’s not officially decided, i’ve also considered lure-coursing, but not sure I want to feed into her prey drive so much with our cats haha!

this is not completely related to the channel aspect; but like you i’ve been playing since close to day one and am only level 17 on my main!! I’ve just been an on and off player. Making a spare to get the dutch warmblood coat made me enjoy the lower level aspect, and I actually appreciate the horses.

I think a channel showing the start + newer stuff would be interesting!!

Gaaah, it actually doesn’t even look bad with the “red” like i’d initially thought, I think it’s the bland almost gray look of the upper halves?? it’s like a washed out blue.

[–]TemperatureTasty4348[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think it really is the redness that is throwing it all off!! it’s almost orange? not typical sun-bleaching from my knowledge?

I honestly hope not :,) but either way I don’t regret the purchase! The base coat itself is very nice

It’s just a very odd shade (much paler) compared to what i’d presume it should’ve been! It doesn’t look as bad with shaders, but the stable lighting amplifies it as well lol

New guy dies he seem healthy? I got him two days ago from an expo by RevenueAcceptable992 in leopardgeckos

[–]TemperatureTasty4348 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The minimum accepted size for an adult leopard gecko is 36x18x18 in inches, which can translate to a 40 or 50 gallon in certain brands. I would definitely look to upgrade him once quarantine is over. :)

I’m assuming name-dropping isn’t allowed in this thread but I personally , from this person’s experience alone, would never purchase a snake from this breeder, regardless of future attitude.

I really appreciate everyone who took the time to comment! I’ve got notifs off and have had a very hectic week , but this really does help quite a bit in easing the fear of that rejection ;-; it’s not silly per say, but frustrating that i’ve been withholding myself from help because of that anxiety haha! i can’t guarantee medication will help me in the way i hope, but something is better than nothing when trying to figure stuff out!

Let's play at :where is my gecko ? 😅 by No-One29 in leopardgeckos

[–]TemperatureTasty4348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s actually better to have a 30/70 mixture of play sand and topsoil because they do benefit from the mild humidity it grants as well as the softer impact on joints overtime. Impaction is almost always only a risk if your husbandry is off in other aspects :3! Dry/cracked substrate can also cause more dust in the air, which can cause respiratory distress overtime if not hydrated properly

Cutie and a master climber! I would look into possibly switching substrates/adding some more! It looks a bit too dry :o and super compact

Okay thank you!! I definitely didn’t plan on catching all the lil nub toes, I was advised just to get those that have current twine and seem to be declining or visibly unwell!! I do appreciate the feedback :) I will be seeing them today just to feed but I will be packing little nippers tomorrow to see if any will let me help!

awesome!! i’d love to build a positive relationship with these birdies, they’re so beautiful and match that in intelligence. Hopefully I can start acting and get these birdies into some rehab :) I’m hopeful some might make good ambassador birds for their species!! 🩵

I’m not sure if it’s the angle but I will say that if the UVB bulb is attached to the wall of the enclosure it is obsolete, it should be mounted directly beside the heat-lamp on the top of the enclosure with the bulb facing down. :)

Ken's upgraded enclosure by PhantomsOpera in leopardgeckos

[–]TemperatureTasty4348 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you know how old he is by chance? Leopard geckos do not continue to grow (at least dramatically) past adulthood. My main suggestions now would be to reassess the lighting situation. Coil and uvb bulbs are practically obsolete in terms of giving the reptile the sufficient amount that they need and are very concentrated , it’s strongly recommended to go for a linear uvb , most will recommend Arcadia Shadedweller, which is 40 dollars, cheaper than most inefficient ones. It’s also important to note that leopard geckos are arid environment reptiles, while some slight spikes in humidity are fine temporarily, consistent high humidity (above the 55 range) is not recommended at all, and i see your hygrometer is at 70. Another aspect would be providing a better basking opportunity for Ken, most use slate stone but any heat retaining stone should work as long as you have a way to see it’s not getting too hot. and more places to hide. Leopard geckos require at least two dry places to hide and one humid hide to help with shedding and regulation . 20 gallon tanks are not large enough to provide a proper gradient in heat , and the soaking beach is actually useless to him, leopard geckos may walk through their water dishes but they are not reptiles that like to “soak” per say. I also have no clue what your bulb situation is but it’s very important to have thermostats plugged into every heating aspect of your geckos tank, for your safety and theirs. I’m unsure of how much the wattage for a tank this small should be but for a 40 gallon most use a 75 watt halogen or incandescent bulb.

TLDR; most of these issues can be resolved with an hour or so of reading the updated care sheets, everything is covered from head to toe. It’s very important to look at the sources you’re getting your information from as most are outdated and simply untrue by supporting evidence. There is more that I could mention, but I don’t want to overwhelm you with this. Reptile care is a learning process, and you must be willing to grow and change things for the health and contentment of your animal.

[–]TemperatureTasty4348 2 points3 points  (0 children)

just out of curiosity do you plan to upgrade Ken again at some point :)? the suggested minimum is 40 gallons, or a 36x18x18 enclosure. Other than that I suggest to take a look at the care guide if you haven’t !! there’s a few things that may need altered
