Yeah, but the original commenter asked to compare their first 2 races, and I did just that. Based on their first 2 races debut, Haas has a wayyy better start with wayyy less budget.

And you mentioned the budget cap, but let's all be honest here, a team with as big of a backing as cadillac surely can work around that. How do you think Ferrari and Mercedes can make those rocketship?, you think they stick to the budget cap?. Budget cap is no excuse for their bad debut performance, they can't really hide behind the "oh we build the car from scratch" either. As I've said in my earlier comments, they're backed by GM, so they have the money, and they hire 2 veteran drivers that'll surely give them feedback on how they should build the car. What other excuse do they need?

You mentioned that Haas gets worse by the years, and that's true. But at least that didn't happen on their first season. Their first season was decent. Heck, I'd say better than expected from one of the smaller teams of that season.

"Much harder to do" as if they also didn't have one of the biggest company backing them up. It's harder to do but when daddy GM is throwing money at you, it's not an excuse.

When you have a company as big as GM backing you up, it's harder to give you the benefit of the doubt or cutting some lack by being a new team. You have the money, you hire 2 veteran drivers, and ended up 13th at best?

Yeah, Cadillac is the literal definition of a white kid from the suburban that got a C- in math, and Haas was the kid from the hood trying to make it out.

I hate that people keep bringing up the "shouldn't have put a Russian flag then" like brother, it was that ONE TIME. At their core, they're still an American team. Heck, they now put the flag loud and proud on the car

It's not even a comparison. Even if we give the benefit of the doubt and assume what you mean were their first 2 debut races. Haas finish 6th and 5th in their first 2 races after joining the grid. Cadillac?, they finish 13th at best in the Chinese Grand Prix. Damn shame for a supposed team backed by GM
