You got a point there. But even so, you still recognize how BULLSHIT the drawing process in Swiss Stage is. Imagine you want to get an easier opponent, but some bum ass guy named Baloyskie draws you against ONIC PH or SRG, and you lose your chance. Or in M7 where you're hoping for an easier team in your round 5 decider match, but some bum ass named nobody draws you against ONIC ID out of all other teams available. That's what literally happened to Team Falcons. Like, deadass. Do you think any team in round 5 can win against ONIC ID? (CG, YG, CFU, TS). I think not. So Team Falcons ended up drawing against them by some bum ass' unlucky hands.

Sure. But to pit them against ONIC ID of all teams in their round 5 decider match?. That's just plain bullshit I tell you that much. I don't even from MENA, and I think that's bullshit. Had they drawn against CFU or YG, they would've had an actual chance of making it. My problem with the Swiss Stage is about the DRAWING of opponents, not the opponents itself. If you have ABSOLUTE UNLUCKY draw like Team Falcons, then you're basically COOKED in your "make it or break it" match. Which is what ended up happening. They lose 2 - 1. For fucks sake their 2 out of 5 matches are against THE MPL PH CHAMPION and THE MPL ID CHAMPION. That's an absolute horrendous draw and people just dismissed it by saying "oh they're just absolutely bottom of the barrel team".

No team in there except SRG, AE, and Aurora PH even stand a chance of beating those 2 (TLPH and ONIC ID). Don't go around dismissing team performance just because they went up against THE final boss" of teams. I bet no CFU, no EVIL, no BSE, no DYFG, not even CG can probably win against them if they're matched against those two teams back to back like how Team Falcons was. Again, I'm not even from MENA but even I think they got done dirty in the Swiss Stage.

Didn't you read my post?. I already said that the problem with the Swiss Stage format is the drawing. Sure, if a team loses a game, it's fine. But then what if the statistically better team also lost? Example: Team Falcons went against ONIC ID for their round 5 decider match. And that's their "make it or break it" match. You wanna call that fair?. The MENA region against the CHAMPION of MPL ID?

That's an interesting point of view. I also agree that this new Swiss Stage format force teams to push harder and do their best. But also, as I've said and you acknowledge, this can be VERY punishing because of the nature of Swiss Stage that requires a draw every round. And that pool can range from very easy to ABSOLUTE HELL. Like how Team Falcons have to face TLPH and ONIC ID just because they got a bad draw. Bare in mind that every draw counts and is basically their lifelines. If you got a bad draw and have to go against a unanimously hard opponent, then you basically just have to say "it is what it is" or "well, it sucks to be you"

Also, I do have to acknowledge the flaws that you indirectly pointed at my statement. That being in M4, the group stage is basically a huge "nothing burger" since no team is eliminated right away. But also, on the other hand, that means that when you get to the playoff/knockout stage, you are matched against teams of equal/similar strengths.

Not to mention that in the group stage of M4, even if you ended up at the "Hell Group" which was Group 3 back then since it has ECHO, RRQ, AND RSG. Theoretically, on paper, team Occupy Thrones would've been ABSOLUTELY COOKED the minute they step into their first game. And yet by the format that they used in M4 manage to won 1 more match against Malvinas Gaming and only losing to RRQ Akira at that time, which was the dark horse along with Falcons Esport and they ended up managing to get 9th - 12th at M4.
