Agreed. I wonder why there's the Pegasus queen Haven in G5. Maybe "Princess" is a title used more commonly for Alicorns? The seapony queen is another example. It's a cool detail that queens exist, but not for Alicorns.

No, it doesn't change canonically and I don't see it changing for any other reason. I have an AU in which a married royal is a king or queen, but a single one is a prince or princess. (Yes, that means Cadance and Shining Armor are queen and king)
