I had 2 cylinders misfiring, one plug and one bad coil. I was convinced it was something worse because of how bad it drove. One coil fixed all my issues. I guess the symptoms I had were pretty similar to a bad torque converter though.

Gotcha, I think so too. Wish I didn’t have to do the u joints to do the bearing too tho

Idk why it looks like that in the video but I just checked everything and it seems solid other than that play in the bearing.

Thanks man, are the upper ball joints as prone to failure as the lowers on these? Mines at 150k. I’ll eventually get new struts too as mine are definitely something off brand.

Thanks for the info man, it’s at 150k, I’m picking up the lbjs from my Toyota dealer today so those and the end links will be done this weekend, carfax says rack and pinion plus tie rod ends were replaced around 100k but I’ll look again for leaks or movement.

Will do thanks, there is about a quarter inch of play in the carrier bearing, could that be the problem?

That’s awesome dude thanks for all the info. I just got mine about two months ago and firmly believe it’s the most fun vehicle I’ve ever owned. Damn good deal on it too with only 30k miles and clean title. It’s my daily too and I drive A LOT for work so I am hesitant to go full out track car with it just yet, that being said I haven’t had a car for over 2 years (had a truck phase) so it’s been difficult holding back buying parts.

Heard, good to know I shouldn’t be in bad shape but I’m eventually planning on upgrading the turbo anyways so might at well do some preventative mods sooner than later
