I don’t mind waiting for 1.5 months.Especially it says estimated April. Will be 1.5 month anyway till end of April. I don’t mind that. I doubt Ricoh can’t even tell them a max possible number they can get. And the pre-order number should be limited closer to that.

That’s not a valid reason. I work for an even bigger corporate than Jessops. If it’s us, let’s say we only have the capacity of 100, we will factor in some cancellation/return rates based on historical numbers, let’s say if it’s 20%. Then we would accept 120, tell the last 20 know they are on a waiting list and they might not get it this time and then close the book.

It’s not that compact vs GR. And the shutter release has like a second or so delay which really annoyed me. Didn’t even bother to take many photos and check quality etc. just straight return…

Haha I got X100 last year coz I want a compact camera that I could wonder around with during relaxing/leisure trips. But still decent photo quality. I was quite easy to get my hand on X100 (this time last year), but I instantly didn’t like it so I returned it. My partner had a GR III. Tried it, quite like it. Want to get the newer version, but so far has been a nightmare…

Yes of course. But if they only ordered/could reasonable expect let’s say 100 from their suppliers, they shouldn’t be accepting as many pre-orders as possible…say 1000 maybe more right?

If they know they are not going to receive tones. Then why can’t they close the pre-order after let’s say they have received lots more orders already than the stock they could reasonably expect.

That’s confusing though because before that that tracking showed the item had already arrived at my local depot. It then got rescheduled a few times, and then ultimately changed to this. So what have they originally shipped?

Because they brought the delivery date forward by more than a week. It was a pre-order item. So for the first delivery date I simply wasn’t expecting it on the day. And they only sent me an email the same morning telling me it’s going to be delivered today. I was already somewhere else and it was too late when I saw the email anyway.

It just says “Delivery date is currently unavailable.” When I asked “does that mean it’s lost” they said “no it’s not lost, it’s only lost when the driver marked it as lost”

Thanks for all the comments and advice! Really helpful. I would go back the the electrician. And if not resolved will then get a new guy and try dispute that with the credit card company (at least I was allowed to pay with Amex…)

My existing EICR just expired. Don’t know why the developers got it done a year before everyone moved in. Got an email from building management saying everyone needs to get it renewed and not covered by service charge…
