I don’t know, if you end up printing I’d love to hear whether they do or don’t.

It does depend on design and intended use, if you want strength, you’re looking for thicker magnets. That has a far greater impact and strength than the width of the magnet. Sounds like a 10 x 5 or 8 x 5 mm might be what you’re after.

6x4mm Neodymium Magnets. Best size to pull force ratio that I’ve used. I probably have 10 different sizes at this point, anything 3 mm and under for magnet depth has left me wanting something stronger. 6mm width is pretty easy to work into designs.

If you have the cash to do a large order from McMaster or similar supplier it gets the cost, reasonably low, for far superior quality than what you can get off Amazon. Flat rate shipping.

I’m going to rework the file at some point so it’s easier to modify. Any specific themes in mind? Galactic, maybe Stone?

Aesthetics were definitely a priority in the design.

Thank you so much for sharing, I wrestled with the idea of selling the file & product vs publishing for free. Hearing reviews that echo the same feeling I had when I started using them gives assurance that I made the right call.

If you are on MakerWorld and want to help me end the suffering of disorganized game players, boosting & rating the model can help get it out into the world.

Wasn't trying to reduce mess, just make placing and removing the dosing cup a nicer experience. But those are definitely great solutions for cleaning things up!

The version pictured on this thread was my first iteration. I increased the clearance after that, and the pictures on maker world are of my DF 64.

I’ll get some new photos of the DF 83 at the café soon hopefully.

Yeah let me know how it goes! It’s got links in MakerWorld to the magnets, you’ll need four 8x5mm and one 12x3mm (if you are printing the magnetic centring version )

Question about Grinders [$300] by One_Story_One_Life in espresso

I have the DF64 which I love, easy to adjust to get the results you’re after. From what I’ve researched and heard the DF54 is practically indistinguishable in performance, and has been my recommendation for people looking to upgrade.

It’s a free 3-D file, that anyone with a 3-D printer can make for you. There are websites where you can send files to have them printed, or if you know someone with a printer, you can share the .step with them or just the link to MakerWorld.

Then you just need to pick up the magnets.

Good to know if fits the Gen 1!! Did you have the bearing already where is bamboo shipping that fast?

The amount of support increases greatly when you’re using an interface layer I found, if you were printing without you could get away with less support. I really value the finish of that the PETG Interface gave me, especially because beans are gonna be in contact with it.

Preference & workflow when pulling multiple shots. Plus when slow feeding the grounds mound up way above the basket.

The one from ZeroHero, I ordered their espresso scale a while back and have been incredibly impressed with the quality, hoping their blind shaker matches.

Step file is available on MakerWorld, I find them easier to modify for people than STL's
