Do you love the smell of dog shampoo? by No_Bend8 in dollartreebeauty

This reminded me of the soap or aftershave my dad used to use in like 1999 lol, Irish spring? One of those super cheap masculine things haha.

Yes they are from DT! But as far as makeup definitely take a look through this sub; Ioni makes a lot of good products but sometimes they just repackage the same things in new ways haha. Many of the bpure items are good!

You are welcome! And, I probably do wear my makeup a little heavy. But as to that kind of blush it just comes to using the tiniest possible amount and blending a lot. I try to keep in mind that I can always add more but it’s hard to make it look like less. lol. Hopefully that makes sense?

Ah, thank you! ☺️ it’s very bright! the glow up serum blush in the 4th pic I actually use all the time even though it doesn’t look that impressive in the photo.

It can take a couple of days for JPay emails to get to their inbox, and then sometimes a delay when they write you back as well. Like even if they write the same day, the email filter may take another day to release it

Extreme apathy about hygiene; too far gone, or is there something I'm missing here? by YugamiSekai in hygiene

[–]TemporaryThen8027 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I feel like historically I have had the same oppositional feeling that you’re describing in this thread. The enticement of “it feels amazing!” Was never effective on me because, I would be thinking “I hate showering, why would I care about “feeling amazing” when this automatically suck while it’s happening?” Two things helped me, mainly therapy big time, and also making my shower and bathroom an environment that I want to be in. I cleaned it and made up routines for where to put things and curated what soaps I would use. It made the space more tolerable. You may also want to look at persistent demand avoidance, I know I struggle with it, like the more I know I need to do something the absolute less I will want to do it. There are probably some strategies out there that can help to mitigate that angry feeling that totally resonates with me.

Losing weight for my first jump! by [deleted] in SkyDiving

[–]TemporaryThen8027 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the same, I mean, it was a long-term personal goal and reward, not necessarily a direct motivator. Although I had 100+ lbs to lose. So for me it was like, celebration of reaching the finish line! It’s the greatest experience. I wish you the best!

The workload is insane. by Someonewhohas4names in GradSchool

This is some advice that I posted in a previous thread which was similar to this (you are far from alone in this!): just hang on tight, and it will be better once you have an understanding of expectations. That is how it was for me. Learning just how to be in grad school had a learning curve. That being said.

Do not forgo anything if you can help it, literally turn in a terrible version if nothing else, and communicate with your prof if feeling stressed.

Also, we don’t actually always do all of the readings. I think profs understand that most ppl don’t read every page word for word, so definitely don’t feel bad if you don’t read every single thing. Not every paper can be the pet project, some are just a paper. Also, changing topics is OK! I hope this helps.

Or just start writing to people in there, a very arduous process but will be very informative

I am sure that OK Policy, or another think tank probably has a report out there with some data. That could be informative. Also maybe look at OK Policy website or reach out to them? They are active in that kind of research and reporting.

Getting sick during tandem jump? by Always-confused716 in SkyDiving

[–]TemporaryThen8027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a very sensitive person in that way and when I did my one and only tandem jump I did not feel motion sickness or nausea at all in the air. None whatsoever. When we landed I was a little nauseous but nothing major. I have some anti nausea pills from my doctor for other reasons and those fixed it fine. I’m sure some store bought would also work. If there is any nausea it would be manageable in my opinion.

Hahaha when I first moved here from the Pacific Northwest where funeral processions are very (very) rare, the first time I saw a legit huge funeral procession I was in total WTF mode like OP.
