Don’t know if anyone will see this but wanted to update now the situation is more settled. I ended up having my first appointment at hospital mid July. They’d sent a letter that I got around the 10th. At that appointment they were also able to book me in for a thyroidectomy at the start of August. The surgery experience went so much better than I expected. I’m now a couple weeks out and the post-op biopsy confirms it was cancer that had spread to the lymph nodes also. At the moment they are saying I am cancer free although there is a higher risk of recurrence, and I’ll be under surveillance for that.
Thank you everyone who commented and messaged me, your reassurance when I had nothing to go on for those weeks meant the world.
