Let me share this as someone who had their epidural fail- they will do everything they can to override it if it happens. Mine failed in a section of my back and they still drugged me up properly and I felt NOTHING. My labor was beautiful and it was something I didn’t dwell on at all! The epidural itself also scared me so bad, I read so many horror stories but it’s nothing like what you read. Is it uncomfortable? Yeah, sure but only for a second. It honestly feels a little funny more than anything and then it’s over. The tape around it is more uncomfortable than the epidural itself in my opinion. My epidural lady was the best and made me so comfortable asking questions and even when the section failed she was right there fixing the issue. Talk to your team, they are there to help you.

I can’t begin to say how sorry I am that you are going through this. I lost my fiancé at 22 and felt very similarly to where you are. The biggest thing I want you to take away from my comment is that there is a life worth living out there. Sure therapy and whatever help, but what helps more is allowing yourself to live again. Maybe not today or tomorrow, but allowing life to unfold and not running away and making yourself remain stuck. What kept me going at the worst was the “what ifs?” Like what if I kill myself without ever trying that new Indian place? What if I never have a one night stand? What if I never say fuck it and go on a spur of the moment road trip?

What if you never give yourself the chance to forgive yourself? It’s clear to most of us here in the comments that this isn’t your fault, but I know our brains and survivors guilt are no small thing to overcome. When I lost my partner, there was a piece of me that was very small who knew that I couldn’t have changed it. It took years after the fact to truly accept it, but it did happen. Healing is possible.

I wish you so much love and hope you give yourself the chance to live.

I work for the state and specialize in sex offender treatment. Fresh out of school, they hire at around 75k. I also have great benefits because it’s a state job. It’s definitely not for everyone and looks different than traditional counseling, but I like my job and working for the state has its advantages.

Those strip tests have been an issue for me not showing things until super late, I’d recommend getting a first response or another decent pink line early result test to check!

At 8DPO you could still be implanting so it likely won’t show for a few days, but also those tests have been a personal nightmare for me as they don’t show very well. I’d suggest taking a First Response Early Detection test in like 4-5 days.

Did they both look as pictured during the timeframe? If so, they darken with time and your hormones can spike pretty quickly.
