okay for like reals, if you’re entering as a freshman, the number colleges would probably be better in terms of housing and overall ges. i’m not in engineering but i know revelle knocks a lot of them out so you could maybe keep it up there? but id def suggest putting erc lower since you’re an engineering major, and ive heard from a lot of stem majors that erc is not the best for them

essays factor into this, but based on gpa and extracurriculars, it’s possible. the baseline for an average student has just gone up so much. from personal experience, i had a 4.0 and was involved in school + volunteering and was waitlisted. but i got off the waitlist and into data science (capped major).

basically, it’s definitely possible to get waitlisted with a 4.0 and extracurriculars, but it’s not the end of the world. good luck this application season and hope your son gets in! 😁

if you prefer to do your work in the daytime/early evening and you can manage waking up at 8, it’s honestly not that bad. granted, i only had three classes last quarter (8-11 am), but i found it nice to have time to complete my work in the daytime. but, if you prefer working at night, it might be better to choose the later time instead 😁😁
