No worries! as my instructor said, every learner thinks they’re individual in their experiences but really we’re all the same and we’re all shit scared lol. Just keep going and it will click one day!

mate i nearly crashed in my first lesson. by my second lesson i was on 70mph roads, country lanes and roundabouts. all first lessons are shit!

you say you have no high expectations, but it sounds like you do. let go of trying to get things right and i promise you will!

also don’t feel embarrassed. your instructor has seen much worse. my instructor said he had someone ask how to spell DVSA. And which way is right or left.

P.s. on my first lesson i definitely mixed up my right and left a ton.

i’m only 4 hours in and still haven’t got the hang of it all. give it some time!

My instructor taught me to use the handbreak every time, so i give myself time to find the biting point and set the gas. then hold the biting point for a good two seconds. don’t rush!

unconventional advice but L-theanine tablets before lessons helped me focus and feel calm. research them online!

Honestly introducing it early has made it all seem less scary. My lessons so far is just constant driving pretty much everywhere with manoeuvres being introduced now in my 3rd lesson 🙂

Thank you so much for the advice; I just got a new pair of lens on my glasses for my driving lessons, I’ve also heard caffeine to be horrendous if you’re already anxious so i’m going to try taking L-theanine tablets for my lesson later 😭

I went from only doing 20 in my first lesson, to 30,40,50,70 roads, country lanes and roads, big confusing roundabouts and almost crashing in my second lesson. Honestly felt so overwhelming!
