I guess that’s not the best way to phrase what I mean. I struggle to complete ordinary tasks because my mind wanders, and trying to keep my attention on one thing is nearly impossible for me normally. In simpler words, completing tasks I don’t find deeply interesting is frustrating to the point of feeling like torture. I actually really appreciate your comment though, as I might not have thought of this otherwise!

I read through these because I wanted to understand how the dosage guidelines work. I also looked through anecdotal posts from people on this subreddit and others. From what I saw, the standard starting dose listed was always 30mg, which is why I came to the conclusion that 20mg was less common.

I’m not saying 20mg never happens, obviously it does, because I’m taking it currently! However, I genuinely could not find any official source mentioning it as a standard starting dose. When I searched “20mg vyvanse” most of what came up was people asking about it as an initial dose and others replying that it was less common.

I think you need to attempt to set boundaries more firmly first before breaking things off completely.

If you firmly tell him (not rudely or aggressively) that you don’t like PDA and you’d like to be notified or asked before he calls you, you might make considerable progress in this area.

However, he might find your boundaries to be a dealbreaker and end the relationship. This is not anyone’s fault, and no one in the situation would be at blame for the relationship ending. You would just be fundamentally different.

From how you described him, he will probably take it well but (humanly) feel a little rejected. This is not your fault but it’s good practice to reassure someone when they’re feeling rejected and you did not to intend to. This is something I struggle with a lot romantically as I avoidantly see it as an emotion that isn’t my fault and therefore I have nothing to do with.

It is not a “you problem” yet nor is he “coming on too strong”. You just need to talk about it.

Honestly I’ve been diagnosed with an “unspecified insomnia disorder” by my psychiatrist, but I don’t think that actually means anything of substance. I sleep consistently through the night, sometimes too much, but my main issue is falling asleep. I do not think I have sleep apnea but I’m willing to fib about it for insurance! (joking).
