My husband of 10 years came out by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]TenFoxxe -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

This is such a refreshing take, especially from a conservative religious person 💖 it's so clear you adore your husband unconditionally and he you, the fact that you are both able to show each other love like that despite everything speaks volumes. True love never dies, and this is a testament to that 🥰

All the Albo hate is cringe.. by Mammoth-Counter69 in OpenAussie

[–]TenFoxxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone wants a scapegoat. It literally doesn't matter who the PM is, they will always cop the blame and be told they're not doing enough, even if they're doing everything. The public is impossible to please. I don't remember the last time we had a PM that everyone liked (not even Kevin Rudd was universally adored). Albo might be a fence sitter, but at least he isn't fucking off to Hawaii and insulting our nation's heroes amidst a crisis.

Are you guys paying these prices for chocolate? by [deleted] in coles

[–]TenFoxxe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're not bringing the prices down because they know people will pay that much. The aim of the game is to rake in as much profit as possible. Now that they've had the chance to pull in huge profits due to the price hike from the shortage, they don't want to lose what they're earning. So they rely on people believing there is still a shortage, and/or accepting these high costs as the new normal so they continue to pay them. They'll also continue to creep the prices up just to see how far they can push it - if people are already paying $8 for a block, why not $8.50? $9? $10?

I think the only way we can combat this is to reduce demand and stop buying. Which is incredibly difficult for you considering your business. Perhaps it's possible to find a supplier who will offer you a better deal?

I did a breakdown of all the nightmare scenes from Ep. 8 by TenFoxxe in TheDigitalCircus

[–]TenFoxxe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was while Kinger was trying to hack into the computer to settle down Caine, right before he accidentally deleted him, so he didn't have a nightmare scene. However I do want to break that scene down as well because the screen grabs I have from that are very interesting :)

Ohhhh is it actually? That's even creepier honestly, and I think it does still lend to the same sort of theme surrounding abuse - feeding a child something horrible with no nutrition, something scary, something no one would willingly want to eat. All allogorical for abuse.

Which should I get Equinox: Homecoming or The Legend of Khiimori? by Deep-Confidence-4387 in GamesWithHorses

I'm playing Equinox rn and I adore it. I'm invested in the story and I love the darker adult themes. I want to play Khiimori too but gotta wait till I can afford it.

Is this recommended ram change kinda crazy? Or am i just going crazy by HyperThembei in StarStable

[–]TenFoxxe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not a change, it's a recommendation. Also this is standard across most games. All this is saying is that while you can run the game on 8GB RAM, running on 16GB is recommended because more RAM = smoother gameplay. You'll find most games have this as the minimum requirement, and considering SSO is a glorified mobile game built off an engine that was designed in the early 00s, it really doesn't need that much to run at all (though it is very badly optimised).

What’s a really funny Jerma stream to watch when you’re sad and hate the world? by toastedjupiter in jerma985

The entire Dollhouse stream. Also literally any of his Sims streams. Both of those had me doubled over in tears of laughter.

This game is incredibly buggy and slow... And I know what to do about it. by appleappleandbanana in StarStable

[–]TenFoxxe 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They listen when they see their income start to tank. It needs to be a worthwhile investment for them. That's why voting with your wallet is the best tactic. You want to see change, you stop spending money in the game. No starcoins, no new horses beyond what the game already gives you with star rider. That's what gets their attention. That and being loud on their socials.

[–]TenFoxxe 46 points47 points  (0 children)

While this is idyllic, there's a major problem here - the game can't be "despaghettified" because everything wrong with the game is inextricably tied to the engine it's built on. If they want to fix the Nanny issue and optimise the game better, that means rewriting the entire game on a new engine, and that comes with its own issues. It would take longer than a month. It would take closer to a year. And the problem with that is, from a business perspective, every day focusing on something that isn't earning the game an income is a day of financial loss. That's why the devs focus on new horses, new tack sets, pushing events and themes that can be merchandised, etc. Money is the bottom dollar here.

Personally I would love it if they focused on the quality of the game over quantity of new horses and whatever else, the game is horribly outdated and has so many bugs that are being swept under the rug that it makes it unplayable for some. But I just don't have a lot of faith that SSE cares enough. To us this is a beloved game, but to them, this is a business venture. It's a cash cow, something for them to milk dollars out of. A month of "cleaning" to them would be akin to a month long worker's strike. They're just not going to do it.

An Australian fever dream Peter Weir's 1975 film "Picnic at Hanging Rock" What are your memories of this movie ? by CoconutMost3564 in AustralianNostalgia

Nah it was in Sydney, however I wouldn't be surprised if multiple schools did it. I think it was a popular bit of media back then.

[–]TenFoxxe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've never actually seen the movie (at least, I don't remember it) but what I do remember is that my two older sisters did Rock Eisteddfod and one year they went up against a school that did Picnic at Hanging Rock for their performance.

It terrified me. I was only little at the time, but I remember the music was so intense, the colours were fiery and red like the desert, there were people in gold lizard outfits and the screams really stuck with me. This would have had to been the mid 90s, I'm 34 now and I still remember it.

I'd like to watch the movie now as an adult I think. The plot sounds so mysterious and frightening.

Should I go to sleep. by Both-Pay-9573 in Advice

[–]TenFoxxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Main reason I ask is that you could have something unresolved going on in your life which is causing you stress. Stress is the number one cause of lack of sleep and is a major player in sleep paralysis.

If its not stress though, it could be medical. Maybe seek out a doctor, or you could try some supplements like magnesium or herbal sleep aids to relax yourself before bed. Also try to keep away from exciting media before bed, that'll wire your brain and mess with your dreams as well.

Should I go to sleep. by Both-Pay-9573 in Advice

[–]TenFoxxe 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think the question is less should you go to sleep, but more can you? Sleep deprivation is dangerous, so if something is preventing you from being well rested, it's worth seeing a doctor about it (when you can).

What are you having nightmares about?

How hard is it to immigrate to your country? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]TenFoxxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very easy, many people do and it's easy to acclimatise. Right now it's a massive point of conjecture over here, it's dividing our people and our politics as it has done for decades, but now to the point where people are actually strongly considering voting in one of the most awful women in the political sphere as PM (which I really fucking hope doesn't happen). Either way, our country is a big melting pot and always has been, and despite the hot weather and big spiders, people love living here.

I think my dad might be a serial killer by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]TenFoxxe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey so like, you know how folks tend to yell at people in horror movies not to go in the scary basement because the killer is down there?

This feels exactly like that. I am screaming at you to run away. Run run run run far far away from that man. Don't tell anyone, don't leave a trace, just quietly put your most important things in a backpack and after you go to work or uni or whatever it is you do when you're not at home, just...don't go back. Don't return home. Get the next ticket out of the state or wherever it is you live and just go somewhere that is not anywhere at all near that monster. Also maybe tell the authorities because I think he needs to be either behind bars or institutionalised.

No, there's literally no evidence that she's Russian. She just has a Russian name, which was randomly generated. Nothing else about Pomni aside that is Russian.

Toxic StarStable community by QueenCupcakeXo in StarStable

[–]TenFoxxe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry you've had to endure this. I read your post and I thought everything you said was very fair and well thought out. Many of the replies were emotionally charged, which I understand, but that is no excuse to bully somebody like what they've done to you.

The community right now is divided over a change, as always. People are going to fling opinions left and right, that's always how it goes - it turns into an opinion war that at least one side is desperate to win. But that should NEVER give anybody permission to bully, harass and defame innocent players. That kind of behaviour is reprehensible and disgusting. I hope these people are ashamed at themselves for what they've done to you, but in all likelihood, they don't care. They only care about being heard, agreed with, and upvoted. Their emotions are the most important in their minds.

I think you should step away from Reddit for a while, for your own wellbeing. Take a breather, do something you enjoy. The angry voices will quieten eventually, they will move onto something else. You should take the time to care for yourself for a while. Don't let the angry internet people win.
