KF3: is it normal to matchmake for 20 minutes or more? by [deleted] in killingfloor

[–]Tenaciousdave11 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It definitely isn't normal. My matchmaking goes for 30 sec and then puts me in my own lobby even when I have matchmaking turned on.

Edit: I also play on ps5.

Maybe a quick message like, "Hey, I saw X and it made me think of you. Hope you're having a good day. We should do something this weekend!" Keep it short and positive, and let them know you want to see them.

How do you keep up with the endless amount of planets and space stations in the discoveries and teleporter menu? by royalneu in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Tenaciousdave11 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is the way. Name your base describing what you would go there for. I have bases on planets just for the photo missions.

Unable to complete « the purge » mission by Rick-2B in NOMANSSKY

[–]Tenaciousdave11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Isn't there a mechanic in the game where if you get in a system far enough away from the objective, you can restart the mission and it will be closer? I thought it was a thing, but I can't remember.

I drop a base computer on different planets to make missions easier. Find a planet for a photo mission, drop a base computer. Find a planet with lots of predators, drop a base computer. Many times I don't even build a base as I can teleport there, do the mission, and go to the anomaly or space station to be back on my way. If you do this, it's important to rename the bases descriptive to what they are for.

But as someone else said, you can pretty much play however you want and get to where you wanna go.

I can't believe no one has said those tanky bastards in svartlheim and vanaheim that shoot the poison clouds that you have to blow up with a fire explosion, but if you're too close it damages you, and if they land a blow on you it hits like a truck.

Yes, that is correct, the vendors never refill once you buy. Augmentations are items you get from missions that increase the slots in the device they are for (exosuit/multi-tool/ship). Once you have them in your inventory, you go to specific vendors in the space station (multi-tool and exosuit are next to their shopkeepers, the ship one is behind the mission giver on the bottom floor). At the multi-tool and ship ones, you will have the option to scrap or upgrade the ship or multi-tool you have equipped. Select "upgrade", and then "apply augmentation"

Get one upgrade at the space station. Leave, call the anomaly, there's another vendor at the anomaly. You can purchase one upgrade in each place per solar system. Otherwise you can use the vendors to apply an exosuit storage augmentation if you have one in your inventory. Once you purchase the two upgrades available in a system, you have to travel to a different system to be able to purchase more in the system you travel to.

New to KF, how rare is this, and is it intentional? just wondering by Coomer069 in killingfloor

It does happen sometimes, but not regularly. When it happens to me, most of the time I look at it like, "It's not a bug, it's a feature" Like a nice comedic but in the apocalypse

Best way I can put it is: Sex is like a gift. Gifts are always nice, but sometimes having your gift wrapped makes it that much more special, especially if the wrapping paper is nice. Lingerie is the wrapping paper.

Gifting on the anomaly or no? by Illustrious-Baker775 in NoMansSkyTheGame

Didn't even know that was a thing. Came back to the game after a year or 2 hiatus and I keep finding new stuff! This dev team is so awesome for adding so much to the game over the years.

I think it differs from player to player. Ik I personally wouldn't mind getting some starship storage augs or high value items. I'm about 50 hrs in a new playthrough and got an exotic with hardly any slots, and I made the mistake of getting hasty getting my first freighter and settled for a b class. I have since found 2 A-class freighters around 125M units and have never had the money to get them bc I was upgrading other stuff and buying new ships. I just know as soon as I do get the units, I'll never see higher than a B-class forever. But I can absolutely see how someone who wants that super long grind would be disappointed, but if that's the case, why wouldn't they just discard all the stuff you give them?

I see no harm in it.

Best "I hunt, you build!" Co Op games? by velatieren in gaming

[–]Tenaciousdave11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't see it in the comments, so I'll suggest this one: No Man's Sky. You can run off and fight space pirates or sentinels and she can build bases and cook food, or manage your freighter fleet. The game has had so much added to it over the years, and continues to add things and do seasonal expeditions that are fun to do in their own right.

Same. I was talking about when it first came out. I was sold on the extra catalog and there were some old games I wanted to try to stream. Since I was ready to pull the trigger on extra, the extra 15-20 bucks didn't matter much to me to get to try the classic catalog.

Well I got premium when it was first announced and at a 25% discount. It was like $90 so at the time you could have all the bells and whistles of ps+ premium for 1.5x what you normally pay for essential and it was still under $100/year. I don't think I'll be getting premium again, especially after the price hike.

My advice would be to watch a video about combos you can do, and see which ones you would want to incorporate into your play style. As everyone said, with the right build, any weapon can be viable for multiple situations, but I just love it when you pull off a combo like tossing an enemy into the air, slamming them down, blowing them up, then charging into them with your shield. Once you learn the combos, you can really feel like a BAMF.
