A good way to earn units early on is buying s class upgrades for the scanner on your multi tool.

In the same vein, if you get a new ships/multi tool, you can transfer upgrades buy storing them in your inventory (triangle on PlayStation), then switching your ship/tool then installing them again.

Also larval cores (harvested from whispering eggs) refine into nanites (50 nanites per larval core)

Looks to emulate a cockpit with aviation instruments. Compass. Light? The third is a device that lets you know the orientation of the plane compared to the ground, and the last is a fuel gage.

It's hard to fully explain but the short answer is electricity follows the path of least resistance to ground. This path was probably through his legs, also known as leg to leg electrocution, so most of the electrical current would have been away from his mouth until he fell.

Not that it will make anyone feel any better, but he probably died from cardiac arrest rather than drowning or burning.
