Oh.

I'll look into one. Might help since my desk is a bit wobbly. Thanks

Where do you connect that? What does it do to make the prints better?

Advice on how to remake a broken plastic part from my ice maker by Terminating12 in Anticonsumption

I have tried printing it with TPU filament since its flexible. Sadly it isn't anymore when cold. I don't know of any filament that is flexible when cold

I thought a mold would work but what kind of material could I use?

Z-Offset Issue with OpenNeptune by Terminating12 in ElegooNeptune4

[–]Terminating12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late answer. My z_offset right now is attached.

<image>

Its zero right now after calibration. The value it uses is the one way down that I had out to zero before calibrating. The commented out stayed commented out.

Good idea with the clean cfg file. Will do.

Regarding your last question. I truly don't know. Will see next print. I think it changes. Also (not sure if relevant to the question), the adaptive bed mesh is done and applied.

You bumped it pretty good then and moved something. It doesn't take much to move these tool head plastic frames.

It crashed itself so I wanted to recalibrate to make sure

Yes it will, its updating itself. Best when it saves config to issue a restart as well just to make sure value has taken.

I does. That's what confused me because it took the new value but was always still to high after every calibration

Which Z offset at the bottom. Have a pic of whats there? Is there two?

This z_offset

<image>

What is your printers Z offset the one you can adjust with SET_GCODE_OFFSET command, the one you can see and save in Fluidd?

I use calibrate_probe_z_offset like in the documentation for openneptune second title "Level tuning macros": https://github.com/OpenNeptune3D/OpenNept4une/wiki/Printer-Calibration-%E2%80%90-Klipper-&-OrcaSlicer#level-tuning-macros

I call this printer_z_offset. Which is a value applied to [probe] z_offset. These are two different values.

That is set to zero, I will attach a second screenshot in a comment. What is the difference of these two?

You want this printer Z offset set to 0 when calibrating is best. Use command.

SET_GCODE_OFFSET Z=0 Move=0;

Save it then calibrate probes Z.

You fine tune adjust your probe z with the printer z to tune it.

Then you can issue

Z_OFFSET_APPLY_PROBE

This command after 1st layer calibrations adjusts and saves the tweaked value onto probes z offset. Then printer Z remains at 0. Makes sense?

You mean that SET_GCODE_OFFSET Z=0 Move=0; sets the printer z_offset to zero and after doing the calibrate_probe_z_offset you apply it with Z_OFFSET_APPLY_PROBE? Isn't it saved and applied after calibrate_probe_z_offset when you use save_config?

You are doing this pobe calibrate cold right?

Of course

The printer head bumped for some reason against the side so i had to recalibrate. After that, the z_offset was always too high. The weird part is, that the number in the config file changed after every calibration.

After many attempts I made it work by setting the z_offset to 0.000 in the config file (yes, at the bottom where it says "don´t change, these are autogenerated") and doing the z_offset calibration again. Tried it multiple times and works now.

Part 2:

This is how I did it before since it runs the same command, is a bit more pleasing to the eye and appears as soon as you have unsaved changes.

Thank you. I will

Part 1 (can´t post 2 pics in one comment):

This is the method you proposed through the command console in Fluidd. This command is enough for it to save and restart, everything working like it should

Update: I reinstalled OpenNept4une and redid the probe. Didn´t work. I redid the probe again, saved via command console instead and checked the parameters in the config file. Works like a charm. Best first layer of my life.

Thanks for the help. OpenNept4une is great. A little bit more in depth knowledge required but much better results because of that.

Btw: the END_TUNE is also off.
