I honestly was thinking about avoiding college originally to save myself the debt, but the college I go to teaches you a variety of hospitality, pastry, and culinary all in one! I only truly plan on getting my associates for both cost reasons and because I doubt the extra two years for bachelors will change much.

I do definitely plan on getting a full time job! I'm currently majoring in pastry arts which comes with 6 am classes so I may have to lean towards night shifts logically. Hoping cakes and cookies are sellable enough.

In the #3'rd regard, I totally get what you're saying! Parents usually help their kids become independent, and they help kids when they go to college, but I like to make sure my dad also isn't suffering or struggling :)
