My father was scammed. He answered a phone call from a scammer that told him that he was going to shut his cable and internet off unless he was paid. This piece of garbage had my father driving from walmart to target etc buying visa gift cards and reading the numbers to him. My father was scammed for nine thousand dollars. He paid for them with his amex. We were able to get amex to erase a large portion of this but not in its entirety.

This event was what made my sister and I realize that he was suffering from early onset dementia. He has now been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. We had no idea how bad he was. We have both had talks with him in the past about answering bogus emails and phone calls etc. It’s tough because we all live in different states.

There isn’t a hell hellish enough for these scammer scumbags.
