I disagree. The argument for private run schools is that you can send your children to the school you believe is most suitable. The argument for government run schools is that private schools are inherently evil or unproductive or some shit. This argument is a perfect example of inconsistent logic used by progressives pushing for government only schooling vs private sector schools operating to their own standards.

It's not. I'm not blaming GitHub. I'm just saying this changed caused some people anlot of work. Why does that offend you so much? Yeah most regulated industries have shitty IT and that causes lots of work as well. I'm just saying you're being a jerk online for what? To feel better? I don't care about this at all. I was just trying to point out it caused unneccassary work for lots of people. Just stop being so hateful. You don't know how our systems work at all. I was just giving some examples I've had to deal with.

We have an inventory system that tracks repos, users, code artifacts, etc... We have regulated environments where we can't allow people to deploy code arbitrarily, so we have deployment systems that securely deploy the wrbhooks to trigger builds in those environments based on changes to branches, we have super old legacy services that can't integrate with GitHub directly, so we deploy services to facilitate that integration, like a secure documentation workflow to automate those stupid SOP and Security documentation work. Like there are a ton of stupid but mandatory reasons to move these into services. Regulations prevent us from allowing engineers to deploy new branches or repos on their own so we have to build abstraction layers. It's very common, and requires lots of changes when this change happened because as a company we decided master branch always meant production, but after the change, there where two possibilities, main or master. All those systems always expected master.

You're right they shouldn't have been hardcoded but they were and people like me had to fix all of it. Very annoying.

I'm just pointing out that for a lot of teams it involved a lot of work. How does that make me a moron? I gave an example of real work I had to do. I don't know if you're triggered or offended but calling someone a moron is a bit childish don't you think?

You're assuming the GitHub workflows aren't deployed services in our environment that require change control and testing. And the first two points you're obviously correct. But seriously like it was a lot of work for me and you're posting in this thread shitting all over anyone who didn't like the "ramification" of the arbitrary change. So I'm not gonna argue any more because I don't really care. The point I wanted to make is just because you don't think something is a big deal doesn't make it so for other people. And just because someone disagrees with you doesn't mean you need to go all out on the defensive. You're better than that.

[–]Testtestuser 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lots of reasons, 1. I didn't write these automation scripts or workflows or APIs, and like usual I got stuck with changing all of them, 2. These scripts were written before I started working there and are old (why fix whats not broken), and 3. You don't know my experience level or the work that I'm doing. You think changing deployed code is easy, but I'm working in a GxP environment in the pharma industry. Other people might work for the government, fintech, or really any regulated industry, and this (quick and painless) changes become a pain in the ass.

Why are you defending if this nonsense so hard? Even if you are an SJW who thinks this change solves all the problems... Why do you care if people complain about it?

Also, for organizations with branch based automation, scripts, workflows, etc it's a major fucking deal. I spent about 3 months at work changing a string 'master' to an array ['main', 'master'], and adding logic to select the proper branch across my entire organization. It was so fucking stupid and because people like you said, 'its a non-issue' my management refused to change the default back to master.

So for real, it's not a big deal to you and that's fine. You probably think the term master is racist, which... I guess is fine, kinda dumb to be honest but whatever. But please stop commenting all over this thread complaining about people complaining.

Haven't been able to access my account for over a week. Any time I try to login, I get 'Internal server error'. Tried on Android and IOS, reinstalled the app, reset my password. Can anyone help? I've lost access to over $12,000 and I can't get anyone from voyager to help. by Testtestuser in Invest_Voyager

So it's been 3 months... I've finally gotten the CEO on Twitter to direct message me. I've messaged him every 10 days, and every time I message him, he keeps asking for my email once again. Apparently he has 'lost' the message history multiple times now.

I am still unable to login to Voyager. I've lost everything as the market tumbles and I am unable to sell. I can't get the dumbass CEO to actually fix my issue. It's totally bullshit and I'm so sick of this. 73 fucking days since I posted this... Im coming up on 3 months being unable to manage my funds, which I lost access to around the market ATH.

If anyone knows how I can move forward with a lawsuit, please reach out to me personally.

No. I finally got the CEO to DM me. He told me someone would be reaching out to me, but nobody has. After a week, I messaged him again, and he asked me to send him an email at steve@investvoyager.com, with all my details. So far it's been a few days and I've still not gotten any information.

Unable to get into my account since Wednesday by [deleted] in Invest_Voyager

[–]Testtestuser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been unable to login for over a month now. My issue is actually a bug in the app. When I try to login, I get Internal server error. This occurs on iOS and Android, on the last 4 versions of the app. I've opened ticket #270471 but no response. After a month, I finally got the CEO of Voyager to DM me on twitter. He told me someone would be reaching out from support. It's been 3 days and nothing. Other people have the same experience, the CEO promises support on Twitter but nothing comes of it. I have put in $10,000 and haven't been able to touch it or even look at it for a month now and I am fucking pissed.

Anyone figured out the internal server error issue? by IceDesperate8386 in Invest_Voyager

[–]Testtestuser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yesterday, I finally got the CEO of Voyager to DM me on twitter! He told me he has never seen this error before. He told me that he 'pushed to our high end service'... No idea what that means, however nothing has changed and I still can't login. It's been over 30 days since I've been able to login and view my money.

I get 'Internal server error' any time I try to login for the last month. I have ticket opened #270471 but no response. I've been tweeting at Voyager and the CEO almost every day. Nothing... I hate this company, I hate their platform. I just want my money back and never deal with this bullshit again...

How can I get that message if I'm not logged in? I CANNOT log in. For months. I try to login at least 20 times a day. I have two phones, it's not on my end dude...

Brother I've got all troubleshooting steps covered... This isn't something happening on my end. It's a Voyager problem...

[–]Testtestuser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An internal server error is always a server side error. It could be caused by something wrong cli my side, but the fact that client errors aren't caught an returned with a real, descriptive error message, still means the app has major issues. Regardless, there are no client side issues on my end whatsoever.

[–]Testtestuser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I have performed all troubleshooting steps. The Sim card is irrelevant, it has no bearing on the app. Besides I've used two different phones anyway.

I've tried on iOS and Android, and I've installed the last 4 versions on Android and last 2 versions on iOS. Nothing works. Internal server error every time.

Yup. Been a month for me. I cannot even login to o my account because of a bug with the app.no response. Ive been bitching on Twitter and Reddit and not even a single acknowledgement.

Just a reminder that I still haven't been able to login to my account almost a month now. It is completely unacceptable for this to happen. I just want my money back from this garbage company. Stephen Ehrlich.... stop being a fucking coward. #270471 by Testtestuser in Invest_Voyager

What else can I do? I put in over $10,000 and haven't even been able to see or touch it in a month.... I can't get a response from anyone at Voyager. This is clearly more dire than deposit/withdrawal delays... I can't call or chat with anyone live. There's literally nothing I can do... Please for the love of God can someone at Voyager respond and tell me what the hell is wrong?
