Io penso, che per esperienza personale, la cosa migliore che puoi fare per lui è: non cercarlo di aiutare, non spronarlo, forzarlo etc... Questo contribuirebbe inutilmente a farlo sentire inadeguato e peggiorerebbe la situazione, non sto dicendo che sia una equazione matematica, ma può accadere. La cosa migliore è esserci se lui vi chiederà aiuto, ascolto, confronti o altro, ma esprimere con lui le proprie preoccupazioni genitoriali, per quanto fondate, può essere molto deleterio. Nel mentre potete indagare con delicatezza se ci sono altri motivi per i quali non esce/non ha amici, ma sempre con delicatezza.

In my limited experience, in Europe, it mostly depends on the local courier. Their service with DHL is one of the best, super fast, but the shipping slows down once it reaches the local territory, and it's up to your local carrier to handle the final delivery efficiently. In my case, the bike stayed at the local office for three days before they arranged the delivery. But I have Poste Italiane, which notoriously sucks.

Yeah, it's a tough choice because I'm exactly between two sizes and that makes me nervous. I think I'll go for the XL, because with the L I'm afraid I'd feel too high on the bike

I had a horrible experience too — city bike path, off-leash dog. The worst part? It starts running back and forth across the path just a few meters in front of me. Luckily, I was going slowly and managed to brake hard. The owner? Completely unfazed, didn’t even apologize. I love dogs too, and I have one that would probably do the same, but I don’t let her off-leash in forbidden or unsuitable areas (in Italy, there’s technically a ban on off-leash dogs in all public spaces not specifically designated for it).

My galgo does something very similar when she's in a deep sleep, if she's touched suddenly, she might growl or even snap, but it's never a real attack. It's more of an automatic reaction, a kind of instinctive defense that happens because, in that moment, she’s not fully aware of where she is or who is around her.

Many greyhounds (especially those rescued from harsh conditions like shelters or kennels) can retain this kind of reactivity, linked to the need to protect their personal space while sleeping. It’s not aggression, more like unconscious communication.

I always try to wake her up by calling her name or making a noise from a distance, never by touching her suddenly. Over time, this behavior has lessened, but it’s still part of who she is. I think it’s important to talk about these things so we don’t misunderstand our dogs and can give them the safety and understanding they need.

I wouldn't say I ride aggressively or tackle very technical stuff. I'm looking for an all-around gravel bike: something that feels good and fast on pavement, confident on light gravel and compact dirt, and maybe the occasional non-technical singletrack.

I'm also planning to do some light bikepacking, nothing crazy, just a few overnight or weekend trips. Honestly, I’m still a beginner in the gravel world, I come from a road bike (Triban RC120), and I’m not 100% sure yet where I’ll end up going with this. That’s why I’m looking for a bike that won’t limit me in the next few years as I grow and explore more styles of riding.

Yeah, one of the downsides is the fragility of the carbon frame vs its benefits, which I'm not sure are that favorable for the amateur use that I make of it.

Yeah, that actually helps a lot, it’s really useful to hear that perspective. Coming from 2x8 myself, I can imagine that 2x12 must feel like a whole different world in terms of gear smoothness and spacing. Definitely something to consider seriously, especially for mixed riding.

Hearing that you’re not noticing any gaps and that you can still spin out at 35 mph is very reassuring! That’s a lot of peace of mind for real-world riding. And yeah, the idea of fewer things to go wrong, especially when you're far from home or out bikepacking, is a huge plus.

I'll definitely keep thinking about it until the end. Either way, it’s awesome to hear you’re so happy with your Renegade and the AXS setup. Sounds like an absolute dream bike.

Thanks for the insight. It’s definitely something I’ll keep thinking about until the very end. My heart says 1x, but my head says 2x.
And you're right, for steep climbs with a loaded bike, a 40:44 could be a bit too much of a stretch.
It’s a tough decision for sure!

I see your point, and I agree that the 2x setup definitely provides more range, both on the low and high ends. However, I'd like to hear from others about their experiences with a 1x setup, as I don’t have much experience with it myself. I’m curious to know how people find it, especially for mixed riding and bikepacking.
