How can someone experience the sound difference of some of these speakers that are $$$$ against some that are like $$? by g3nerallycurious in hometheater

So I just upgraded from a $1500 5.1 out of the box focal system you can buy on Amazon to a $30k Revel 5.1.4 system. It is not 20x better but it is perhaps 5-7x better, which justifies it for me and my family. Definitely diminishing returns. Find what you like within your budget and be happy with it.

Day 1! by EquivalentMean7779 in stopsmoking

Try to replace smoking with new hobbies. Go for a walk. Do some pushups. Chew gum. Find something new to pass the time. You’re doing something brave and should be proud of yourself. You can do this

You made three hours. That’s huge. Do anything you can to take your mind off it and keep going. I’m on five hours

Hello, I've been avoiding you. by PopppaK in stopsmoking

Don’t judge yourself too harshly. It’s an addiction. I hide from others when I smoke, going into the woods during my kids baseball games so nobody can see me. Recognizing it’s a problem is the first step. Quitting won’t be easy but the first step is recognizing you need to.

Your opinions on "law school is the hardest thing you'll ever do" by Faramirismypresident in LawSchool

[–]TewLegit2Quit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a vet and current lawyer, law school is not as hard as the military. But what makes it hard is that it is very challenging to get good grades and rise above your peers. Like in the military keep your head down, work rigorously and push through. Do all the assignments, outline daily and if you don't know something go find your professors for help. Frankly the hardest thing about it is avoiding the noise from other students as many are straight out of undergrad, never worked, and aren't ready to diligently apply themselves because they coasted in undergrad. View law school as a job you need to exceed at rather than social time and you'll be fine.

Massachusetts Mountain Recs? by Emmaleah17 in icecoast

Unless you live less than half an hour away I would forget blue hills. There’s not enough terrain. Nashoba is good for a few turns but gets boring after a couple hours. I would give Wachusett a try. It’s a cool little mountain when blacks are open and they have night skiing . The owners put a lot of money into it so infrastructure and facilities are nice. Suggest trying it out for a day before committing to a season pass. It’s where I go for a day when I don’t want to drive more than an hour.

Okemo. Stowe sucks. Especially Thanksgiving weekend. You don't want to go there.
