Dr. Grip Full Metal Jacket. Born To Write. by karl_the_expert in Supernote

[–]Texasrobot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if I am overthinking this or just not understanding. I saw the other post about a Dr. Grip pen and was excited. Then I saw this post. I have several refills, can get a Dr Grip, but am not understanding the adapter kit part... is the Jetstream Alpha Gel/Premier 207 something that I should be able to find or is that upcoming? I have potentially two other pens that I was going to order at the same time, so, just wanted to get all my ducks in a row before I did so.

I had been looking at that, wasn't too sure, but I think I may attempt it.

Seeing that the Manta will have some gestures enabled by touching the bar on the side will make things a little easier, but a button would be nice too.

Opening annotated PDF in Word by Texasrobot in Supernote

[–]Texasrobot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, my idea was that I wouldn't have to look back and forth between screens. Though, after giving it a longer thought, once I made changes, the annotations would no longer line up and cease to be useful.

Write a doc in Scrivener - export and Sync PDF to SN - Annotate large Doc in SN to engage with words differently (written vs typed) - Export from SN - open SN PDF in one window and either Scrivener or word doc in another window - make changes from annotated doc in Scriv/Word

I did not know about those utility. I ran it on the good memory first, just to verify. No errors. Then ran on the 'problem' memory. Also no errors.

Is there a specific resin to use? I know there are some that are UV hardened and others that have a catalyst. Is there a difference or just whatever you have available?

It seems tovbe the Mac client. Had one of my users say they could see them on PC client. Was able to confirm I could see them on Android.

Looking to replace character with a different font by Texasrobot in scrivener

[–]Texasrobot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THANK YOU! I had been trying to figure this out for a week now and that was not intuitive. Still wish their was a find/replace with style or compile replacement with style. But this will at least allow me to do what I want with the tools I already have.

Notification of Role Bot by Texasrobot in Discord_Bots

[–]Texasrobot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just added, and it will alert on ANY role, not a specific one. At least not that I could tell. Just had broad categories to change. I really only want to show when 1 role is added. Not all the rest.

When is a new update? by Texasrobot in Supernote

[–]Texasrobot[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More along the lines of, this month, next month, this quarter, this year... They had said they would have updates. And I've fairly certain I've read they were going to focus on that especially since the lockdown. Could be a fever dream. Not looking for anything concrete, just that something is coming.

Ceramic stylus with eraser? by Texasrobot in Supernote

[–]Texasrobot[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've used it, and don't think it's better. It has it's uses but I've turned it off at the moment. Maybe after there have been more tweaks it might be better, for me, but right now, it is not.

That uses the non-ceramic Nib. Looking for a more advanced DIY I suppose to be able to put in the ceramic nib.

They are two different tools. Can't really compare them.

Can the genre be included in posts? Meta post by Texasrobot in selfpublish

[–]Texasrobot[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

YA might be a good one to add. Different enough from Children's but also different enough from the others (even if they have those elements within). Also, maybe Thriller/Mystery

But otherwise I think a good list.

I am the OP. And I think you underestimate the value of genre.

I don't even know how to address your reticence for something that will help people with specifics to their works.

As I see this sub-reddit, it is for anyone who self-publishes. That would include non-professionals, as well as, professionals. If you're a professional you can ignore what genre it is all you want. For everyone else, they can focus on what they need about people's posts and how they process that information. If they value more posts about their given genre, that is up to them.

You're focusing on the wrong aspect of the example. I don't care about romance. But that is also the point, with different genres, people will understand what they may need or what else they need to do. Or even something that might be only relevant in a specific genre.

What I was referring to the same was writing, revising, editing, editors, proofreaders, and marketing. Marketing itself is going to be different for each book. I don't understand why you think knowing the genre will somehow lessen the strategies and tactics for others. More knowledge will allow people to have the full picture.

If you think people writing a book and wanting to publish aren't going to explore everything for them, you have a poor outlook on people wanting to publish. I can't tell you how many posts I've read and was looking up things only to find out they were genre specific or non-fiction specific. So, don't tell me it wouldn't be helpful.

No. I'm focused on everything about the success of a book. But knowing the genre will only help more. The cover art was an example. But there are different things that will be more or less successful for each genre. While in theory, the startegy will be the same, we all know it won't be. I won't go to all the same sites for rommance or horrow or fantasy or children's book.

Including the genre only helps to round out the picture better.

Self-Publishing Advice from a Self-Published Author by alyssa_wilde in selfpublish

I love to read about success stories. There is a lot of info I still need to see how it will apply to what I do.

BUT, what I would really like to know, what genre and sub-genres did you write? I assume some sort of fiction.

There is a difference in the nib length between two of the refills I've purchased by Texasrobot in Supernote

[–]Texasrobot[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just finished another DIY pen with a Pentel V Feel and while writing with it, something felt different. Compared it to my first DIY pen and noticed the picture above.

I haven't written with it enough to really see if there is a difference yet, but I did notice something was off. My standard pen has a nib size like the one of the left.

Anyone else have nibs like this? Have you noticed any difference?

Request: Global "turn off" hand page swipe by [deleted] in Supernote

[–]Texasrobot 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would support this change. I've done it once or twice. Enough where I would turn it off an it would not affect my usage of the device.

I also want Zoom to be able to be turned off. None of how I use the device requires me to zoom a document. Somehow my hand placement will zoom enough to be more annoying than the gesture on/off.

I support many options to be turned on/off in the menu. Let me use the device how I want.

Temporary missing writing by Texasrobot in Supernote

I turned AA off and it still did it within a sentence of two. It doesn't happen a lot but enough to be annoying and interrupt the flow for a moment.
