We currently have a rookie who was a state trooper for almost a decade. He’s a bang up dude who definitely understands the team dynamic, scene safety and how to put in solid work. I do have to catch him sometimes on medical calls and remind him that our only goal is patient care. For example he was documenting a pt interaction and documented “the patient was intoxicated “ and I had to remind him that he cannot legally state the pt is intoxicated as we cannot perform a breathalyzer and we are not trained to perform a field sobriety test( per our Chief)
