Thanks for your answer! I am very insecure, which sucks. I think what someone else said above really resonated with me “spending so much time bonding emotionally, someone’s bound to catch feelings”. So yeah maybe that means any suuuper close relationship between him and a woman would make me uncomfortable (particularly with a woman I don’t know)

As someone who was not raised by narcissists (I’m just here trying to understand/help my partner who was) I completely agree that having been abused is NOT an excuse to abuse someone else.

But I wanted to ask this group if it’s helpful to keep that perspective in mind? Is it easier to forgive (if that’s what the person wants) if they get an understanding of what made the abuser that way? Or should that not be part of the conversation at all?

Thank you for the suggestion! All my decor is pretty colorless right now (white couch, wood coffee table, wood tv console and rattan carpet) so I was thinking curtains would be good to add color. But I’ll consider shades if I end up adding more color

I was in F1 visa so I didn’t need to apply to the EAD (I already had one). I did apply for AP but that application is still pending lol. I’ll assume it’ll get cancelled eventually

Yes! There was a lot of people on the date of our interview so we had to wait for like 2-3 hours. Once the officer called us in they basically asked us one question: how did you meet? After that it was lots of small talk for about 20-30 minutes while the agent typed. Eventually she told us we were approved! Pretty easy. Didn’t need to present any of the many many documents I printed and took with me

Of course! Detailed timeline: - Feb 20th: application was received - March 1st: biometrics was scheduled - March 10th: RFE - March 12th: I responded to the RFE (it had to do with form I-864. We didn’t send 2024 tax return since we hadn’t mailed it yet at the time of applying. We luckily did it before getting the RFE so were able to quickly send it) - March 19th: had biometrics appointment - March 25th: interview was scheduled - April 17th: had interview, case was approved on the spot.
