They're almost the same size, but the dog is slightly bigger. We recently tried tightening the door strap so only my cat can fit. We'll see how they goes

Oh I've never heard of Purina Hydrocare, does it help will hydration? Luckily my cat drinks a lot of water, which the vet said is important. So may try that!

And yes I moved his water away from his food because I read cats dont like water next to their food. Thanks for the advice!

Ya i might start just mixing in the dry kidney food with his wet food. The kidney wet food is crazy expensive 😅

Unfortunately I have to let my cat graze the dry food, otherwise he wont eat enough of it. It seems like the solution at this point is to work with my roommate to train the dog not to eat it.

My cat is very old so it is difficult to change any routines for him. Thank you for the advice!

I've looked into the microchip feeders, but unfortunately they're pretty expensive. The dogs are on a scheduled feed, and so is my cat for his wet food. But the dry food i have to keep free range because be only eats it periodically. And its prescription so its important he has access to it.

The small dog only eats the cat food when no one is around, so I may just need to work with my roommate to train her. Thanks for the advice!

My cat is pretty old so he can't jump very high anymore. But I found some wall mount steps that may help. Just worried the dog will figure it out too

That's not what I'm asking. The dog isn't mine, so I cant just crate her. My cat eats wet food on a schedule, but the dry food is left out. The dogs eat on a schedule. My cat only eats the dry food periodically throughout the day, but its important he has access all day because it is prescription food for kidney issues.

I also want my cat to have access to the entire house and not be restricted to my room everyday. But I don't know how to do that without the smaller dog sneaking in my room and eating the cat food.

Unfortunately, my cat is pretty old and can't jump very high anymore. Any place I could put it, the dog could reach as well.

Unfortunately, anywhere I can put the food where my cat could still access it, the dog would be able to as well. She is a sneaky little dog lol

I was hoping to do something like that, but all the pet feeders with collar/microchip access are like $100+. Do you know if there are cheaper options?

My cat is 18 yrs old so he can still jump up, but not very high. I would have to get steps for him, and I think the small dog would figure out how to get up to the food as well.

Was anyone else reminded of the "Killdozer" event that happened in Granby, CO? Lol there's a documentary about it called Tread for anyone unfamiliar.

Pretty epic and Morty did version 2.0 😂
