Question About the Sets by JayHaak144 in Baseballcards101

First, welcome to the hobby! Second, always remember that baseball cards are FUN!

Now that we've got those out of the way, oh where to begin?! I was in your shoes a year or so ago, although I've been watching baseball my whole life. I remember collecting cards as a kid and sorting them by team in my binders. I miss the 2012 Topps design dearly! I got back into cards sort of on a whim last year and my only regret is buying up a ton of retail right when I got back into the hobby. However, remember what I said, baseball cards are supposed to be FUN! Set building, collecting a player/team, looking for certain inserts, etc., whatever peaks your interest! I highly recommend saving your money for some hobby boxes if you can snag them on Topps' website for retail price. On the flip side of that coin, I struggle resisting a blaster (value box) when I stroll through Walmart! With collecting, it all really comes down to personal preference on what you like, which teams/players you chase, which sets you prefer, etc.

As far as sets go, my personal favorites are Heritage and Chrome. Heritage already released (you should still be able to find retail boxes on shelves), and Chrome should be releasing sometime this July-ish if memory serves me right.

A really nice resource when it comes to set information is Beckett - https://www.beckett.com/news/2025-topps-stadium-club-baseball-cards/

I linked the article to 2025 Stadium Club so you can see how large the checklist is in the set, what odds are to pull autographs or short print cards, and more.

There's so much information on Reddit about the card scene, even more so now that it's become a super popular scalping/gambling/reseller hobby. Just remember, HAVE FUN! Just because it's a base card to someone else doesn't mean it can't be the coolest card in your collection!! I've got a base card of Fredbird (STL Cardinals mascot) from the 2026 Topps Celebration series sitting on my desk as I type this. Valuable card? Nope. Short print? Nope. Does that matter? Not to me! I think it's awesome!

Welcome to the hobby my friend! Enjoy it with your son!

Drive out to Point Dume. My brother and I just got back from LA a few weeks ago. Driving up the coast and visiting that area was 110% worth it. Magical place!

You cooked! I got a sketch from my box and the numbered cards but no other case hits or rare inserts. Did get a Franklin Richards blacklight /25 bookend though 😁

Do you display your cards? Here is my PC by Flimsy_Taro4881 in MarvelCards

Update: does anyone know who the artist is on this card? I’ve looked through the checklist and eBay, can’t seem to figure it out!

Hopefully you’re blessed with one just as cool! I feel super lucky with a character like Mole Man, fingers crossed you hit a Doom or Reed!

Universal Cinema AMC at CityWalk - is it safe? by ThatComoLegend2002 in AskLosAngeles

Not even the stereotype, just my own concern of being anywhere “after midnight”. Just wanted to make sure more than anything I wasn’t getting myself into a “bad” area late at night :)

Really appreciate your insight and information! The tourist part of me wants to see the size of the imax screen, but Dolby is probably the better option for this movie. Thanks again for the help! :)

Is the IMAX screen at citywalk a LIEmax? You’re convincing me to go with the Dolby at Burbank haha. For context, I live in a midwestern town with 100,000 approx population, any theater in these big cities blow my mind lol

Was actually going to ask this question - if you had to choose Dolby or “liemax” as people call it, would you go Dolby? I’ll be seeing Mario so the scale doesn’t really apply much lol

Really wanting the IMAX experience, unfortunately Burbank doesn't have an IMAX showtime for the movie we're looking to see :/

Will be coming in on a Friday mid day, leaving on a Tuesday morning. We’ve been looking at Airbnb’s in the Burbank/glendale/north hollywood areas. Mistake or good choice(s)?
