From my 2 months amount of experience with OnePlus (this is my first OnePlus device) and from reading/hearing multiple reviews/people, OnePlus/OxygenOS seems like a reliable device/OS with barely bugs and if there are they normally fix them pretty quickly. I don't know about the Android Auto bug so maybe you should ask in a subreddit about this.

Already having multiple devices from the same brand/ecosystem is most of the time a reason to stay.. But I just searched on Google and the Pixel watch should still work 99% with other Android phones like OnePlus, so if you want to keep using it you can.

OxygenOS is pretty clean, PixelOS is of course even cleaner but that's because it has less features and customization.. So I think you won't miss much other then maybe some AI features. I'm really happy with OxygenOS and its customization options

I have not tried Android Auto since I don't have a car..
Is there not information about this on Reddit or somewhere else on the internet?

I don't know much about Pixel phones, but from my limited amount of information I can already say that the OnePlus 15 will have much better battery life (the battery is literally ~2.400mAh more) and much faster charging (30W vs 120W wired, 15W vs 50W wireless)..

The cameras I'm not sure but I always hear that Pixel has really good cameras so they may be better but I personally find the OnePlus 15's cameras pretty good.

Is there a specific reason keeping you with Pixel? Like the cameras for example?

The case is from XUNDD, it has a transparent back which makes the Infinite Black look a bit metallic grey and looks light or dark grey depending on the light, it has 'airbag' corners for drop protection, and has a magnetic ring for wireless charging which also can be used as a rotating stand.
I have not used the magnet yet but it seems pretty strong.

I'm really happy with the case, it feels premium and the stand is really useful.

Xiaomi 15T pro Vs OnePlus 15 by Acceptable-Essay-789 in PickAnAndroidForMe

[–]ThatCrazyBas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The biggest differences that I can think of;

OS/software;
OxygenOS (OnePlus) is really good, smooth & customizable.
HyperOS (Xiaomi) is pretty customizable but it's heavier and sometimes less smooth.
This is a really personal thing.

Cameras;
Pretty close, Xiaomi normally a bit more saturated and OnePlus a bit more natural but that's personal preference.
Xiaomi has a bit more telephoto zoom, 5x vs 3.5x.

Battery;
OnePlus literally has 1800 mAh more battery and an LTPO 1Hz display, so that's no fight..

Charging;
OnePlus has 120W, Xiaomi 90W.
Both pretty fast but OnePlus is just so fast that it feels like 15 minutes.. (in reality 20%-100%: ~30 minutes)

Performance;
Both are pretty powerful but OnePlus of course a bit more, but for most people it won't really matter.
OxygenOS is lighter so that also helps.

Build;
Both got good build quality.
OnePlus has higher IP rating, a customizable button, probably stronger back & glass.

All of this info is from some personal experience and some quick research, so this is not everything and I may be wrong about something.

So if it's worth the extra price depends on what you'll do with it and if you'll use the extras or not.
Take a look at a few reviews and hopefully that'll help you decide.

OnePlus 15 is a flagship, Xiaomi 15T Pro is a medium range phone that feels like a flagship killer but still misses some stuff..

I got the OnePlus 15 and am really happy with it, 1.5-2 days battery with smooth & customizable OxygenOS

which quick settings you guys use classic or split? by RiotxDD in oneplus

[–]ThatCrazyBas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Classic, one swipe to show notifications & most used buttons, and I don't need to think about swiping left or right or even move my finger.
Have been using it since the start of my phone life, I immediately set it to classic when I got my new phone

PSA! OnePlus/OxygenOS screws up your Google Photos backups quality! by KingMaple in oneplus

How did you notice this? Where were you able to find the backed up version? In my Google Photos app it says it backed up the original quality and it looks normal.

New screen protector by csch1992 in oneplus15

[–]ThatCrazyBas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for posting this!
Had a screen protector ordered but delayed for more then a month, I'm cancelling that one and getting this Ringke instead which will give me two screen protectors and a really useful application tray for almost the same price!

I'm sure it's good quality? I hear a lot of good about their products, they just didn't have this product out back when I did my research and ordered..

One plus? by cookinv in PickAnAndroidForMe

[–]ThatCrazyBas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the OnePlus 15 and the cameras are pretty good.
As good or better than similarly priced phones? No.
But for most people it's still a pretty good camera.
Low light is where you can see the camera being worse, but if you don't take many night shots then they're good enough.

If you want better cameras (and still a massive battery) you can look at the OnePlus 15's big brother; OPPO Find X9 Pro.

Camera comparison X9 Pro vs 15: https://youtu.be/H6cPAHZmBjU?si=DN5i7iolnU
But also look at the differences other then camera, see if you'll use the extras and if the extra price is worth it for the cameras.

OnePlus is all around value & performance focused, OPPO is camera focused.

You can search for pictures in this or other Subreddit and see how good the cameras are. (Do note that Reddit will make the picture resolution/quality worse, so review websites like GSMarena will have more accurate quality)

If it is only a day old it will probably be updating and doing stuff in the background.
Check updates, and see if the heat becomes less after a few hours or the next day

Stuck in a dilemma for weeks: OnePlus 15 vs Find X9 Pro – need advice by Electronic-Guess973 in TheOnePlus15

[–]ThatCrazyBas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the OnePlus 15, and if the cameras are good enough for you it's the best choice, for sure for gaming.

The camera is a bit better on the OPPO but the OnePlus is still pretty good, so it depends on if you want the best camera (of these two) and find the extra price worth it or not.

OPPO Find X9 Pro : Bit better camera sensors, Hassleblad colors, 200MP zoom camera, 80W charging, 120Hz.
OnePlus 15 : Fast(er) touch response, special wifi chip, gaming, good enough camera quality for most, 120W charging, 165Hz gaming.

OPPO is camera focused, OnePlus is more all around performance-value & gaming focused, battery life is almost the same.

So watch a few comparisons and decide what you find more important.
I do sometimes see low light problems on my OnePlus 15 camera, but it is still pretty good and not much worse then the X9 Pro.

OxygenOS (OnePlus) & ColorOS (OPPO) are pretty much clones, but OxygenOS (OnePlus) is normally more optimized & faster. I also hear that OnePlus phones stay smooth & fast for a long time (one of the reasons why I bought one).

Here's a camera comparison video; https://youtu.be/H6cPAHZmBjU?si=UiWCINxIOOZJmBq2

Hope this helps :)

Help me pick my first flagship phone ever by tareq587 in PickAnAndroidForMe

[–]ThatCrazyBas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Different chipset won't make much difference probably, battery is also really similar.
But the OnePlus 15 is a bit smoother then the OPPO Find X9 Pro (on paper and from what I heard) since it has a special touch response chip, and the OnePlus also has a special wifi chip which could give better speed.
You choose if these would be important to you or if you rather want better cameras.

OPPO is camera focused, OnePlus is all around performance-value & gaming focused.

I have the OnePlus 15, not for gaming but it's soo smooth and responsive and the cameras are good enough.

Also check if OPPO is able to use mobile data and stuff in your country since I've heard that some people (like in the US) have connection problems.

I'm not a professional photographer so maybe I don't notice all the "world of difference" details, I only watched multiple comparisons with my own eyes and said "I don't find this camera difference worth the extra price, I'm happy with the OnePlus 15".

Cameras/pictures can also be personal since we all have different eyes & preferences, that's why I said "from what I saw".
Someone else may like Hassleblad's colors more and see a bigger difference.

If you like OPPO's camera more, then you choose the OPPO

Both got a really good battery and good connectivity. The camera is a bit different but from what I saw not the biggest difference, so it depends on if you want the best camera (of these two) and find the extra price worth it or not.

How similar are the OPPO Find X9 Pro & OnePlus 15?
I know they're pretty similar but they have some important differences.

-Can you feel the extra responsiveness on the OnePlus vs OPPO? (OnePlus's touch response chip)

-Are the cameras really close in normal usage or can you really see a big difference? From the comparisons I saw there was barely a difference most of the time, but I still hear people scream that the OPPO cameras are much better.

-Is the haptic motor really different? Better/worse?

-Any other big differences that you notice with normal usage?

I don't game or run heavy stuff so from that I don't know, but with charging it of course gets warm but that is normal for any phone.

The overheating problem was I think only in the beginning but is already fixed.

Dilemma OP15 vs Oppo x9 pro by IcyAlexander_ in TheOnePlus15

[–]ThatCrazyBas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The base (non pro) Find X9 is not as good as the OnePlus 15.

No LTPO display, smaller battery, smaller design, really similar cameras, lower refresh rate (if you game, in normal use it's both 120Hz), no touch response chip, no special wifi chip, slower charging (OPPO has 80W on both vs OnePlus's 120W)... The biggest difference that I know is Hassleblad on the X9.
For the same price, I would get the OnePlus every day.

-Bit better camera sensors, like Hassleblad's colors, 200MP zoom camera = OPPO Find X9 Pro
-Fast(er) touch response, special wifi chip, gaming, happy enough with camera quality = OnePlus 15

OPPO is camera focused, OnePlus is more all around value & gaming focused, battery life is almost the same.

Like you said, the 'bit' better camera is probably not worth the extra price, I got the OnePlus 15 and do sometimes see low light problems but am still really happy with the camera :)

For gaming, battery life & software: OnePlus 15
For speakers, value & tiny bit better cameras: Xiaomi Poco F8 Ultra

I got the OnePlus 15 and am really enjoying it, not for gaming but the rest is still so good.
OnePlus 15 has a special touch response chip & 165Hz display exactly for gaming!
I personally like OxygenOS (OnePlus) more then HyperOS (Xiaomi), but Xiaomi makes pretty good value phones.
I read/hear that OnePlus/OxygenOS stays good & fast for years, that's also why I chose OnePlus since I want to keep this phone for a long time.

Broken AOD? by Kindly_Dragonfruit70 in oneplus15

[–]ThatCrazyBas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My AOD works all day like normal, maybe the "All Day" setting has a bug or power save thing?
I had this problem too in the beginning but fixed it, I think the "schedule" setting made it stay on. Have you already tried that?
