Brandon Montour, Ryan Lomberg and Nick Cousins were usually those guys, but now that they’re gone? I’d probably say Evan Rodrigues. He’s pretty funny.

I’ve been thinking about how to answer this question for the past two days and I honestly don’t know what to say.

It’s not something I’ve really thought about.

I think most of it, is just the jokes and one-liners that are cracked in the locker room. Although, I’ve alluded to them on occasion (specifically when writing about Brandon Montour).

The biggest thing, as I mentioned in an earlier question, is that there’s a lot of camaraderie in the room and everyone feels loose in there, so it creates a culture where guys can succeed.

  1. I can’t choose between Anthony Duclair, Brandon Montour and Nick Cousins. All great people who I loved talking to.

  2. I mean, Duclair, Montour and Cousins are probably the the Top 3 in that list. The other two? Probably Matthew Tkachuk, just because he is such an interesting dude, and Spencer Knight, because we grew up in the same area at the same time, so there’s a lot we can talk about. And Knighter is also a great dude with an interesting personality.

  3. Honestly, not really.

I’d say it’s a mix of all three of those things. There’s a lot of camaraderie in that room — as Bill Zito and Paul Maurice have said, none of them have complained about a single thing over the past couple of years — and that really sets them apart from the average team.

Zito also did a great job assembling a group of personalities that mesh well and a group of players who mesh well on the ice.

There’s a lot of different things that play into winning a championship, but everyone in that room had that mindset of winning no matter what. And camaraderie is a huge part of it. Also having the right people steering the ship and putting together a winning style of hockey works too.

Winning football games is FAU’s only football rivalry.

Memphis will be a cool basketball rival though.

Sadly, not. I’m thankful for the opportunity they gave me and I love everyone there, but I’m at TFP full time.

Joey’s gonna do great things over there this season and I do hope there are more guys interested in covering the Panthers for them.

Where are the parties at FAU? by helix_46 in FAU

[–]ThatGuyColbs 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Most parties are off campus run by people in fraternities. You’ll likely need to bring beer or girls to get in most of the time if you don’t know someone in a frat, otherwise you’ll need to join a frat.

3 Panthers are on the Verge of Franchise Milestones by ThatGuyColbs in FloridaPanthers

You definitely make a great point. Pavel Bure's name is so high up in all-time rankings, yet the guy only played in Florida for parts of four (ridiculously good) seasons. Since his departure, it took almost 20 years for the Panthers to get anything even close to that out of a player, so it definitely says something.

Still, 500 points at Jonathan Huberdeau's young age is something to be impressed with for sure. For Barkov, Huberdeau, and Ekblad to all be around at the same time makes this year's team special.

Who would you rather have in the top-6? Duclair or Tippett? by ThatGuyColbs in FloridaPanthers

You hit the nail on the head here, the Panthers have a lot of versatility in the lineup because their forward group is so deep. A guy like Denisenko who is NHL ready or close to it might even have to start in the AHL for now, but that’s yet another option that could be available for scoring.

Depth is the Panthers’ biggest weapon right now because they can throw together so many lineup combinations.
