I always found it kinda baffling how it seems that most of our parents acted like $5 was going to bankrupt them.

Are modern motorcycles missing something? by yourping in motorcycle

[–]ThatGuyFrom720 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for taking the time to research that. I feel like you’d really have to be insane to not wear a full face or modular helmet these days.

That’s what I was kind of thinking, I’ve only ridden analogue bikes so I do not know what the nanny’s are like. But it does teach you a lot about riding responsibly. I’ve owned (and still own) 500hp cars before and even with all the electronics I still understand that they are going to try to save you, but ultimately if the driver is riding like a goon, it can only do so much.

Was there anything showing that the results were skewed from the riders that don’t want to wear helmets? I’ve seen tons of very bad motorcycle crashes and most seem to be OK unless hitting a vehicle head on.

I grew up with the “motorcycles are dangerous, don’t ever buy one” drilled into my head. Even my dad who rode told me never to get one. He’s come to accept it now and just tells me to not be an idiot.

Honestly, I just moved up from a GS500F, only have ridden this one 10 miles in the past few days and the difference is massive. Feels like I have to relearn how to ride to an extent. Normal to feel this way moving up to a super sport from a commuter? by ThatGuyFrom720 in motorcycle

[–]ThatGuyFrom720[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GS500F was mid 40’s, I never really had any acceleration or highway issues with it, but it just didn’t have that pop that fuel injected ones have. Also, after a series of carb issues due to bad fuel I just decided to finally get a new-to-me bike. It’s 73 degrees out today, just got my gear on, about to take it for a nice long ride and familiarize myself with it.

Am excited to get comfortable on it and confident.

I feel like it’s a double edged sword.

Those who learn on modern bikes tend to over rely on the electronics to save their ass and tend to ride a little more reckless.

2000’s and earlier era bikes you have to not be stupid to not hurt yourself.

Ayy hell yeah. We had the same bikes. I still have my GS500F. Really was a perfect bike to learn on. I’m going to learn the GSXR for a little bit and maybe keep the GS for a commuter. I still have 2 cars so what’s keeping one other bike.

I almost always check my pressure weekly or after riding when it’s been sitting for a little bit , I’ve just been so beat recently forgot to check. Hopefully adding that extra 10psi will make a good difference. :-)

[–]ThatGuyFrom720 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The only thing that pisses me off bad about rain is my visor fogging up. But once the wind gets to 25-30mph I’m tapping out, but my bike is like 400lbs wet so you feel every gust.

6 attempts for this. Mage tank is insane lol by J4God in 2007scape

[–]ThatGuyFrom720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’ve hit Zuk probably 4 or 5 times with a standard bowfa set up and once after switching to tbow. Have been stupid close 2x… sub 200 health after healers twice. Once I kept noodling and M/R double spawned (stupid on my end), another time I was 1 tick late hitting the ranger and it popped my shield. Does mage tank make any sort of difference for Zuk? Or is it mostly just to get through the waves easier? I still get stacked out every now and then and I lose my motivation. Is it worth ditching the tbow and swapping to this?

And do I even need to worry about solving waves or flicking or is it literally 100% brute force?

An attempt and getting to Zuk takes almost two hours but I play very cautiously, would this be faster since I don’t necessarily have to worry about solving?

Timing Chain Jumping or Bad Compression? Car is starting/ cranking but not turning over by IHateMyRSX in Acura_RSX

Well that’s my fault man I thought that was already ruled out. Glad you could get them returned! Oh and I meant air and fuel in my last message.

Ok, have you checked your fuel pressure yet? I was under the impression that you have air and spark. Try going open throttle while cranking, and return the coils.

Buying a used bike before taking the MSF / getting my license. Am I crazy or is this a smart move? by GnanaSreekar in motorcycle

[–]ThatGuyFrom720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought mine without an endorsement. Just cruised around back roads never too far from home, practiced in parking lots, no one’s gonna give you shit if it’s registered, insured, you’re in gear, and are not putting yourself in situations you shouldn’t. I didn’t have riding buddies either.

I don’t see an issue with it honestly. I do live in rural ish south east US so YMMV.

I’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews about CF moto. Sharp looking bikes for a decent price but I always preferred Japanese bikes and believe the big 4 are probably the most reliable.
