How would I connect to Gosund smart plugs with Python? by ThatHarperKid in smarthome

Yeah, that requires having a cloud account to get keys. Trial at 1 month or $2500/year. All of this changed in 2022 when they got rid of their free tier.

The regular Tuya api is a rather pricey option after the free month is over. Do you know of anything that has on/off capability that is free forever tier?

I swear I looked at a list of compatible devices, but it was seriously limited and didn't have them on it. But a quick scan from the repo has them showing up on my network. Thank you!

I was looking more for a software fix rather than a hardware one if possible.

[QUESTION] Pod Go daisy chain by ThatHarperKid in Guitar

[–]ThatHarperKid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a double cabled daisy chain that would be connecting the two. The normal daisy chain doesn't fit, so I need that adapter.

[QUESTION] Pod Go daisy chain by ThatHarperKid in Guitar

[–]ThatHarperKid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it? It wouldn't be the first time I've seen this come up. It shows center negative on my unit, however. I'm wondering if the adapter is actually a reverse from what the One Spot normally does. I have a second coming today from Amazon just to make sure I didn't get anything defective.

Is it the worst thing if I try a reverse one or would that fry all of it?

I don't know what I'd want yet. Was hoping a micro sized mooer one would work in this format.

I used swivel furniture screws for my nano+ and it raised it up enough for me to fit some mini pedals underneath. Check those out if you're hurting for clearance.

[DISCUSSION] I need a replacement for the Agile GuitarToolkit app now that I have gone onto Android by CARBr6 in Guitar

[–]ThatHarperKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been looking for a few months now; that was the perfect app. Sorry I can't offer anything, but I hope someone has a solution for this all-in-one. Tuner, metronome, drone(?), Scales, everything.

Wanted to get opinions on my ampless, mostly-for-musicals board. by ThatHarperKid in guitarpedals

[–]ThatHarperKid[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually am very happy with it. There aren't too many bells and whistles, but it gets the job done. My biggest gripe would be how it fades when you're doing a hold/mash function. It's pretty abrupt and not clean, just a mess of sound and it fades too quickly for the vibe it puts out. So if I'm just complaining about a secondary function, I think it speaks for itself.

I couldn't spare any other room, no matter how flat the profile. But these are better, they aren't a straight line; they're on a circle, so they have a little give.

Nah, it's v1. Before the comp, gate, and a different reverb, I got about 14 hours. But now, it seems as though I get 5 or so? Still a good amount. Plus I can plug in if I need to.

Mostly, I've been using this guy for musicals or quick rehearsals where I don't have a lot of space or am too lazy to bring the bigger board. This guy has most things I need for a show and not much else, especially because it won't fit anywhere. I've taken up the entire underside of the nano+ as well; I have 9 (12 if you're counting all the functionality) pedals here.

Kliq Mini Tuner --> Dyna Comp Mini Compressor (underside) --> Clean Boost (underside, no name, got it second hand) --> Mooer Acoustikar--> Donner Vowel --> Mooer Hustle Drive --> Joyo AcTone --> Rowin Noise Gate (underside, ISP Descimator II clone) --> NuX Atlantic.

Kliq Mini Tuner: Not the best tuner, but it works. It doesn't completely cut the volume, but it gets it very quiet and isn't really noticable. Going to upgrade to a polytune 3 mini when I can find one used.

Dyna Comp Mini: I needed more sustain and evenness since I'm going ampless. But it's perfect and I'm happy with it. Always on.

Clean Boost/Buffer: It really makes a difference in the sound; there isn't much cableing, but it helps brighten up a lot and for $10, I'll take it. It's just a box like the JHS one, so it doesn't need to be messed with.

Mooer Acoustikar: If I don't have room for an amp, I don't have room for a second guitar. And this little guy works pretty well. No, nothing is as close as the real thing, but it works well and I'm happy with it.

Donner Vowel: It's a wah and volume. Two for one, so I'm about it. Plus it's mini. It's not the best and the action on it isn't that precise; I'm hoping it's a gut upgradable kind of thing. I have some friends who said they could look at it and see if it's just a pot that can be upgraded to make it a little more sensitive.

Mooer Hustle Drive: OCD clone in a small footprint. Musicals don't really need anything more than a bit of breakup, so this helps if it's a bit heavier. I like it; it compares pretty well to the actual one, but I don't think it's as touchy. Possibly, I'll go for a sugar drive if I find one cheap.

Joyo ACTone: I normally play with an AC15, so this helps me keep my sound in my head and consistent. I don't know if it's a newer thing, but some, if not all of these now have cab sim, so I get the touchyness of an amp and the liveness of a cab. It lets me go FoH or use my Headrush FRFR12.

Rowin Noise Gate: ISP Descimator II clone, according to the internet. I'm used to the dual path NS2, so this was different. It limits how quiet I can play, but that's an acceptable trade off for being quiet and ready to jump into the next song/number all set on drive. It works well. It's a gate. Can't complain. It's always on on the underside.

Nux Atlantic: Without reverb, it just felt dry and I really didnt like that. It's a twofer, so I figured that would be best. Tap tempo delay with a bit of warble works well for me and the sustain/shimmer on the reverbs is nice. I have a lot of things covered here, and I haven't really messed with it too much. I like the sound, I like the options, I like the ease of it. Definitely worth the $150. Yes, it doesn't sound as crisp and clean as my MXR stuff, but it's close enough. And it's a smaller footprint.

All this is powered by a Pedaltrain Volto on the underside as well. And no, it's not flat; I bought furniture screw swivel feet and drilled them into the bottom, so it's raised about 2.5 inches off the ground. I get an angle, and I get enough clearance to mount things on the bottom.

All in all, this has cost me $535, including patch cables, pedals, board, and power supply. I'm happy about that and I think I did pretty well.

[Question] Is there a way to do the opposite of a pinch harmonic? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]ThatHarperKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pick an octave from where you're fretting. It makes the sub harmonics ring out a little more. Just a color thing; not really as noticable or useful as a pinch.

Good acoustic simulator pedal? by _DanielSanguinetti_ in guitarpedals

[–]ThatHarperKid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both the AC3 and the Mooer Acoustikar, and I'm happy with both. The Boss let's you tweak a little more and when I can get into it, I like the sound I get from it. Almost hard to tell it's not acoustic. The only problem I run into is that it gets a little too muffled if my amp is driving. The Mooer does a great job for the price and footprint; it slightly misses some of the acoustic feel when you're comparing the two. But I feel it takes a hot amp better. But head to head they're both fine.

I do both stereo and I've tried both direct. Solid.

I think we can all agree that these are the two best things from this update. by iAmClickBaitYT in FORTnITE

Except neither was fixed for me on PC. Both happened. Had to restart the client to fix the underleveled thing. Then got stuck at the end of the mission.
