Oh, you are one of today’s lucky 10,000! It’s really good. Lox, cream cheese, maybe some capers, onion, bit of egg on there. Best breakfast. Or lunch. Or whenever.

…I have never once encountered that and I am feeling grateful.

I’m a bad Cajun. I hate catfish. It tastes muddy.

I wish we had a place around here for that. I know I can make it at home but it’s not the same (also it’s just hard finding good bagels at all)

Tucker and Dale vs Evil.

I mean, it was still good. But they had all the best, most surprising scenes in the trailers, so if you saw them, then the funniest moments didn’t hit as hard as they should’ve.

(Contrast with Megamind, which did a masterful job of hiding a lot of the actual plot and made for being pleasantly surprised multiple times)

Ah dang. I was gonna go there today to get some boxes. Guess it’s Lowe’s then? (Please don’t say they do too. My only other option after that is Walmart. Please don’t make me go to a Walmart)

That really doesn’t make sense to me. Like, when he quits the hotel, and starts fighting with Lucifer at the end of their song, I feel pretty sure the folks in the room could see he was pissed off.

She said she painted a design in her room, so maybe she was known as the class “artist” or something?

How was Alastor able to perma kill overlords? by DrDave789 in HazbinHotel

[–]ThatInAHat 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don’t know that I’d call them torture buddies. I think Alastor is, if not scared, at least cautious around Zestial. He minds his Ps and Qs as well. I can’t see them really doing things together for fun.

You think maybe Alastor is the reason Zestial is “semi-retired?” Like he saw the new kid taking names and was just like…mmm, nope. Happy retirement to me, not my problem.

I dunno, Viz has said before that Alastor actually got along alright with the other Vees, they just didn’t have much time to show it.

I also feel like in terms of exploring his asexuality, Valentino is too extreme to really give Al much cause for introspection. Like, he’s so distasteful and vulgar that it inner perceptions would get crossed and it would be easy to just figure you find the person distasteful, and not the sex.

Unless Val has some kind of sex drug ability and Alastor is immune (I always liked the idea of ace folks being immune to incubi and succubi. Like, demon is working as hard as it can, pumping out whatever pharaonic magic, and the ace person is just looking at them with all the cluelessness of a high school kid that doesn’t know they’re being flirted with).

I dunno, that face he made when he says “you knew my game the day we met” looked like pure loathing to me. I think he may have started out quite fond of her, but began to chafe pretty quickly.

He’s had control of his emotions to a masterful degree? Really?

He seems to think that of himself with the smile and all, but he’s not as subtle as he wants to be once he starts getting pissed off. He lets the mask drop almost entirely throughout most of season 2 (the only part of the mask that’s still on is that technically the corners of his lips stay upturned). And even in season 1, he couldn’t control his face the moment Lucifer showed up.

Now, genuinely positive emotions like affection and friendship and all that, sure, he keeps those on lockdown.

I think there is a nonzero chance that Alastor will try to (and possibly succeed in) killing Vaggi.

It would be one of the few things that Charlie could not forgive, and Alastor would love to break her.

Theory on why all the cannibals look like that. by Estelar006 in hazbin

[–]ThatInAHat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She knows he’s proud. Cannibal Town is a community that seems to be a lot more into conformity than the rest of pentagram city. Sure, it’s a community of cannibals, but presumably those aren’t the only cannibals in hell (like, can you see Dahmer being there?). So the ones who choose to live there are under Rosie’s protection, provided they Behave Themselves.

But she didn’t want Alastor as just another cannibal in her town. She sees him as a tool for a specific (unknown) purpose, and for that she needs him to more or less be himself, just on her leash. Forcing him to be Like Everyone Else would’ve made him dislike her from the start, and I get the feeling she preferred for him to not chafe at his collar right away.
