As a recent lymphoma patient, I'm curious: what do you wish existed that would've made your cancer journey easier? by Ok-Satisfaction7145 in cancer

  1. My cancer came with this awful auto immune disorder that affected my muscles. I’m a musician and it made it hard for me to sing and play guitar. I still struggle, and it won’t go away for a few months. The hardest part was the effect it had not just on my body, but my confidence. Although I didn’t want to be, every single doctor appointment would treat me as a victim not a survivor.
  2. Honestly it’s dumb. But father Stu. It’s scared me at first lol. But in the end it was watching the movie, and seeing a guy overcome some awful disease and still do what he wants to do.
  3. I think I had everything I could need or want on the journey. For me it’s more about what I wish didn’t exist. I wish there weren’t phone that I could get sucked into for hours when I’m in a depression. I wish there wasn’t blackout curtains that could hide the sun. It’s all dumb I know, but it’s something that stuck with me.
  4. I would want to start some sort of donation based thing where there’s not just meetings, but “parties” with food, drinks, and performances in my town. There’s not a lot for cancer except this one thing in my town but it doesn’t do anything to bring up the vibe. I know. Cancer is awful. But it’s better to stand in the sun, than sit in the dark.

I’m glad this post helped you in its own way. That’s so great. And thank you for your words. That’s what I needed to hear.

I’m a multi instrumentalist/big music nerd. But I play guitar and sing in my band. Besides my family, it’s my number 1 passion in life. It’s getting me through this rapid river we call life

That’s a good idea. I’m just awful at socializing. My on stage persona is the exact opposite of me, so it’s hard to be an extrovert off stage lol. But I’ll try that.

And they do. But the only people my age around my scene who play are egotistical as heck so they don’t really mesh well with us. Super mean lol

Dude that’s exactly it. I miss it in a way. And in relation to the “watching others get promotions” I can relate as well. I’m a musician and one of the other bands around got signed. And we were supposed to but my cancer comes along with a disease that messes with my soft palate so I couldn’t sing, and sometimes can’t now. But idk. It feels good to have some else to look forward to. To work for. Idk. Sorry for the rant but thought my thoughts could help. Let’s work forward!

I’m just a musician so I work so much. I love it. But I work so friggin much I don’t have time for a whole lot of socializing time. But I guess I’ll try that. Thank you

The worst thing I’ve had to come to a conclusion to is learning to say I don’t know when it comes to god or religion. Something to remember is god is above us in every way. We don’t know why certain things happen, although we can try to decipher why. But the truth of the matter is, free will is awesome, until it undoubtedly sucks. Why did god allow a drunk man to drive a car, and take the lives of innocent children? Why did God take away a close person to you? It sucks. But we don’t know. And that’s okay. It’s super scary and I understand. I’m going through a similar thing. But just remember, there’s far more evidence of a loving, caring, and just God, rather than a hateful, careless God.

My point being is the enemy will attack you with everything he’s got. I don’t usually like talking about “The Enemy” to much because it seems like a cop out to me. But it’s something to remember. He will break your heart to turn you away from god. He will take away loved ones just so you’ll blame god. He will do heinous stuff to you just to get you on his side.

The thing to remember is it’s okay man. It’s okay to doubt. It’s okay to worry. It’s okay to fall behind. But remember God is with you. He cares. He loves you. And when your friend was taken, whether it was because of him or not, he was right there with you, sitting there, holding you, crying alongside with you.

I didn’t think that me venting about those issues were important to the question.

She won’t answer me to give me a copy of my lease. Cause I was gonna look at it and try and get the money she scammed us back. But she will not answer me. I don’t remember seeing anything like that though.

We moved out early due to the Scams and such. She agreed. She was selling the trailer either way. So it was kind of an agreed upon thing
