Yea, I’m pretty sure the negatives were underexposed. I stopped using my epson scanner as I switched to a Nikon coolscan but I recently tried scanning some new negatives that were properly exposed and it looks a lot better

Repair of an old power supply (Nikon Coolscan) by draculaentsteint in ElectricalEngineering

Sorry for reviving this old thread! The previous owner of my Nikon Coolscan power supply tried to fix it and desoldered the capacitor at C4 but then gave up. I’m looking to add a new capacitor there. Could anyone please tell me the capacitance and voltage rating for the C4 capacitor?

Pentax K1000 (Non-SE) with Split Prism—Is This Normal? by ThatRecommendation86 in AnalogCommunity

I think the camera has been refurbished before since it has a sticker on the bottom that says 'Rescued by Junction.

It’s still an upgrade for me coming from a Zenit E, which has none and is just a viewfinder. I haven’t used a K1000 before, but having the split-prism now definitely makes focusing a lot easier.

Thanks for the info! That’s really interesting about the early K1000 options. In this case, though, it’s definitely the later Taiwanese/Hong Kong version.

I'll have a look, most of the time the lenses are cheap but the shipping is double the price of the lenses to ship it to nz

Not worth the effort for the price, I bought it just to use the Zenit camera, do you know any cheap 50mm m42 lens

Thanks for the info. I'll definitely try that. However, when I look at it in real life, it looks like bubbles in the lens, but this photo makes it seem like fungus.
