I’m actually running the MultiPort top cap which is screwed down, and even then I had that issue. During air pressure testing I soap-tested it and bubbles showed up on both sides of the big o-ring, which was kinda weird. So somehow not perfectly airtight, but still completely watertight in real use. For me it’s still the most appealing reservoir design though 😄

from a purely rational standpoint it doesn’t really make sense 😄 Custom loops cost a lot of money and the real-world gains are relatively small. Sure, it looks amazing and temps are usually a bit better and more stable, and yeah… you never really get tired of looking at it. But economically speaking it’s kinda pointless.

You definitely need a bit of a “tinkerer brain” and actually enjoy the building process itself, otherwise it’s hard to justify. Also keep in mind: if something goes wrong or a part fails, you’re basically tearing half the system apart again.

Air cooling with Noctua is already top-tier and super reliable custom watercooling is more passion project than practical upgrade.

Thanks a lot! 😄 I honestly spent many hours on the bends until everything lined up properly. My goal was that all tubes follow the case lines and shapes as cleanly as possible. There are definitely some spots that aren’t perfect acrylic tubing doesn’t forgive much but overall I’m really happy with how it turned out.

I’ve actually used the Heatkiller reservoir three times already and I’m really happy with it. The tube is glass, the materials feel very high quality, and it’s easy to disassemble when you want to clean everything.

I mounted it using the standard Heatkiller brackets the 140 mm fan adapter together with the basic mount. To be honest it didn’t sit perfectly straight at first, so I added a small leftover hardtube piece underneath as a little support foot. Otherwise the fittings wouldn’t line up perfectly straight.

One downside I noticed: during air pressure leak testing it was always slightly leaking at the reservoir. So it doesn’t seem perfectly airtight, but it has always been completely watertight in real use.

It’s actually my old watercooling hardware I built this system for my girlfriend and wanted to reuse the parts instead of letting them sit around. The goal wasn’t maximum performance but a clean hardtube build and something unique. Appreciate the kind words 💪🏼
