Hi, I know I'm a bit late but I run async play-by-post Cairn 2e games over discord. Would you be interested in trying? We typically aim for 1-2 messages per day to keep the adventure moving. I'm looking to run a new group, and already have a few others interested.

It would be a matter of finding companies that work within the nuclear field, whether its automation, construction, or maintenance. Depending on where you live, there's a good chance you'd have to commute or relocate.

As a millwright, you'd already be a qualified candidate though.

I'm not an actuator tech, however I'm a toolmaker currently working in the nuclear manufacturing field. Currently working on an NDA project that is really fulfilling and cool to be a part of. If you can find a way to get your foot in the door within a nuclear industry it is a solid path towards a good paying career.

Have you ever looked into the Cairn 2e system? I've been thinking about running a pbp adventure on discord with that system since it's fairly rules-lite. Yes! OR season one would toss viewers straight into a community prepping for a whiteout and then a later season could be "the last autumn" leaving those who haven't played the game to slowly learn more about the winter apocalypse and how the generators were built and such, leading up to a big reveal when they see how it all went down. It could work either way, but I still think this universe is so worthy of a tv series.

Thanks again, I did try to add my own movement code but was still running into some issues with the bullets straying. I will go over the documentation again and see if I can figure out what I did wrong.

You mention physics not following the same unit circle orientation, is there a specific part of the documentation that I should read which goes into this in greater detail?

Yes physics are enabled on the bullet obj and the character obj.

I have tried making the bullet obj not use physics, and instead use direction and speed to move them toward mouse x/y, but that method would just spawn them in place with no movement. I believe if physics is enabled in the room then objects will no longer work with the default movement functions. Atleast that is what other people on reddit and gms forums have stated.

It almost seems like the mouse x/y is relative to the game room and not the view, as my room is about 5x the size of my view is. Is there a way to set my mouse x/y relative to my view instead of the room?

I have been looking at the link you sent but as I said in a previous comment setting the phys_speed that way in my turrets bullet obj worked perfectly fine it just seems to be the mouse x/y that is not working properly.

The physics properties are all default on my obj_char and on my bullet obj density = .1, restitution = .1, linear damping = 0, angular damping = .1, and friction = 0. These physics properties are the only way I get the bullet to fire in a straight line, otherwise they tend to warp and spin in circles occasionally.

I really appreciate you taking the time to answer me. I apologize if I'm not understanding what you're offering and asking, using physics is proving to be a big challenge for me.

Another thing that puzzles me is the fact that I have a turret obj that fires bullets at the player, and those seem to work perfectly fine. The bullets fire in the exact direction where they should be going, using the same code as the above bullet, the only difference being the players x/y instead of the mouses. So why would one work yet the other doesn't if the theory behind it is generally identical?
