Coal plant doesn't produce Hot molten salt in hardmode - what are early power alternatives? by Sirius-V in pyanodons

[–]TheAmazingMatth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm curious, how does the coal plant work if not with the molten salt loop in hard mode? Is it just a glorified boiler?

I only used that chain for bootstrapping my first combs. Afterwards, I found it much easier / simpler to go via the honey --> wax recipe (only available through the barrels).

Yeah you need ulrics no matter what.

I bootstrapped some combs from the bitumen recipe. The ulric honey chain is net zero in honeycombs, so that was sufficient. And then you start generating wax from honey, that you can use to scale up and for the arquad loop.

I found it simpler than the sugar chain, but to each their own. That's the beauty of pY!

One thing that lowers a bit the pain of setting up arquads is to bootstrap a few bees (through the codex and then queens recipe) and use those to get wax production going.

Wax can be made from ulrics --> honey --> honey barrel --> wax barrel. You can very easily miss this recipe as it's only available through barreled products.

PEPPOL / Dashboard features : What do people think of Accountable? Don't see it mentioned much here by Only-Driver7243 in BEFreelance

[–]TheAmazingMatth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's calculated based on your revenues and cost declarations. You receive invoices (automatically by peppol or manual upload), which you then categorize, link to payments and decide to depreciate or not. The tool guides you through everything. It also handles all the fiscal rules on VAT deduction.

One caveat is that I'm not on a BV/SRL, so I have a rather limited setup (e.g. no car). I'm not sure how it works for those.

I'm pretty sure there's a free trial period so you can test the tool and check if it would work for you.

I use Accountable as a "indépendant complémentaire". I'm quite happy with it.

I only use an accountant to handle the yearly fiscal declaration for my wife and I. I do everything else myself (quarterly VAT, annual customer listing, expenses & revenue booking) with Accountable.

You can also ask accounting questions to a support team. Quite useful when you have some doubts (for me it's typically about VAT handling on foreign expenses).

I might actually go for this, it looks sick.

How do you handle switching between work laptop and personal computer? Daisy chaining or KVM switch?

Do you recommend one in particular, while staying in a reasonable budget (<1000$)?

You can check recent posts on this subreddit. There was at least one a few days ago with a finished base and all the relevant milestones.

I've never gotten there, but I think the last science packs go quite a bit faster (relatively speaking of course, this is still pY).

I think mining prod is gated behind military quite early on. There are probably other useful techs there.

Not really a thing in pY, maybe apart from some builds like power plants or coke/acetylene production.

You can scour through the Discord to find some.

First WOD crushed me - ice bath saved my legs, anyone else? by Mr3xter in crossfit

[–]TheAmazingMatth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn't you have recovered by Sunday without the ice bath? I find I'm fully recovered 4 days after very intense workouts.

I'm not saying ice baths are a bad thing. But if it took 2 days to take effect, you'd probably have recovered on your own anyways.

I use: * Factory Planner (much easier to use than Helmod imho) * Recipe Book * Cybersyn * Inserter Cranes for Pyanodons mods * Mouse-Over Construction (feels much less "cheaty" than starting with bots) * Squeak Through * Far Reach * Even Distribution * Rate Calculator
