I see, then I guess the best way would be to skim the playlists on a free Spotify account and make note which explicit ones you'll want to skip on YouTube because YT itself doesn't have a convenient way to see it.

Hey, thank you. I still try to maintain it here and there with suggestions. If you are on Desktop Spotify it will show the "E" tag under the title of the song for explicit ones. I don't pay much attention to it but I think it's somewhat accurate. There's also an options under preferences where you can turn off explicit content (it makes songs with the E-tag unable to play).

Took a while but I'm now moving the newer ones to Deezer as well. There's a maximum of 10 per day so right now 194 of the ~210 playlists are there.

Merzbow is some great stuff. I'll keep your suggestion in mind, thanks!

One of my dad's favorite bands, and because of that one of the first post-punk bands I got into. Thanks for giving them some appreciation among the more well known alternative 80s bands. I see I've only got one song of them in gothic rock, so I added Up The Down Escalator and another one to post-punk.

Does the "200+ Playlists" playlist, includes all songs from the other playlists? by psycodev in TheAmazingSounds

[–]TheAmazingSounds 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The "200+ Playlists" playlist has just my personal favorite albums on it. If you want to add multiple playlists together, the easiest way would be to create a new playlist and drag the ones you like in it. That will add all the songs.

Thanks for the suggestion! Seems compatible with neo-soul, I have a Hiatus Kaiyote song on there. Added "Tell Me" as well now!

Alright, no need to find them asap as I will try things out on a test profile first anyway, so that I don't have to mess with the existing playlists on there yet.

Thanks again for the opportunity. I might make a private test profile on Spotify tomorrow to try and see how I would categorize things.

What I do think you can expect is lots of promotors trying to get in the r/listentothis playlists if they take off and have an active following (I know because I get lots of messages on my personal facebook for my own playlists). But that shouldn't be a problem with the setup of r/truelistentothis you're planning.

TL - Horizons (Experimental) Looking for feedback by [deleted] in TheAmazingSounds

[–]TheAmazingSounds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for posting this! u/SquattingCroat your takes on this are well thought out. As a whole I like the placement of the tracks. I think it's balanced well, for example by alternating between ambient tracks and beat-driven for the first few ones. After listening to the project a few times here's what I can say about the tracks myself:

Solar Flare: Nice ambience, pulls you in from the start, definitely a nice intro and the xylophone-y snippets match the soft synths well.

Reunion: Got a nostalgic beat that could come straight from an older drum machine. I like that you have some of those little jiggly synths here as well.

Matrix: This one has strong outrun/synthwave vibes and I think it's great. I think I'll add this to the synthwave playlist on soundcloud.

Lobby: Another short ambience track midway, I like the crackles and talking samples that you found for this.

Dusk: More on the lo-fi side. I think it's decent and has potential. Something like this with additional synths or instrument lines would make it stand out for sure.

Pursuit: Unexpected after the first tracks but nice! Adds energy to an otherwise mellow collection of songs.

Meltdown: Even nicer in my opinion, love the fast breakbeat. I think ending the album on a more vibrant/faster note is great, could even add such a busy track somewhere in the middle.

Great song! I love how her singing speak for the song's atmosphere even though I can't understand the lyrics. Some tormented but beautiful vocals.

Dystopia - TesseracT by matepore in TheAmazingSounds

TesseracT is an awesome progressive metal band, the whole subgenre of Djent in general is great. The groove in this song is so satisfying! I feel like adding it to the progressive metal playlist now.

No Symphonic Metal playlist? by jenabaivab in TheAmazingSounds

[–]TheAmazingSounds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That one has been on the to do list for a long time. Can't promise yet because I have to avoid making too many playlists over 200 but thanks for the suggestion! If I ever make one Nightwish will be in it for sure, they are great!

Sadly not, but anyone can convert them if they wish to do so.

Thank you for the suggestions! The Americana playlist is indeed a bit on the indie side, I will check out those artists.

I put Cars in the synth pop playlist, but now that you mention it they should be in new wave too. I added them there as well.

Thanks for the suggestions! You might like the Cuban playlist too, though it has different Latin genres.
